Been doing feather sticks and wanted to share so here go's

Man, the antibiotics are working great. Only taken three doses since I got them and I'm feeling so much better. Of course I've also been asleep for most of the last 14 hours. Still need to call in tonight though, probably tomorrow too. Might as well use some of the sick leave I have saved up, no point in dragging myself in or getting anyone else sick.

Looks like i will be calling it quits on the computer early tonight, I was sent a few arrows so i could play with my new recurve, and im going to put together a target in my basement :eek:

I got about 28-30 feet straight shot down there, i use to shoot my slingshots down there all the time. But obviously 30 feet isnt enough for a bow, but hell i have had it for weeks just teasing me and now that i have a few arrows im not waiting another 24 hours to shoot it.

I got hundreds of used cardboard boxes, literally hundreds, I picked them up a while ago from a uhual store that was closing down. for 10 bucks i got all they had, some were in rough shape, some i have used to ship packages, most i use to cut up and test knives... But im going to stack a bunch wide and thick, back it with a box full of crushed aluminum cans right up to the brick wall and play around at 10 yards lol.

No glove, no tab, no arm guard, inside recurve shooting...... what could go wrong??? LMAO

Instead of stacking it like that, I'd suggest tying it up or compressing it. One of the guys (Crimson maybe) made a little hut with a bunch of used carpet scraps, he stacked it up/compressed it and it seemed to work well!

Well it wasn't 14 solid hours. Ever few hours I'd have to get up and pee and drink some water, then right back to sleep. Was up for a couple hours this morning getting breakfast. I've been awake for about 2 hours now, might be up for another hour or so and probably hit the sack again.
 
Yep that was Dexwithers that made the hut, it was awesome too, i got my idea from him actually, i just dont have any spare carpet.

I had planned to tie them up in bundles, then all the bundles together. Backed with what use to be my slingshot target, which is a refrigerator sized box full of crushed pepsi cans.

If it makes it thru all the cardboard it WONT make it thru that box of cans, but if i shot only the box of cans id be worried about it slipping inside and ripping the feathers off.

Carpet is a great idea though, I will keep my eyes open for scrap carpet as well, that would last a lot longer. This only needs to last a little bit though so i can try the bow out.

My father shoots traditional in competitions, and he told me to get some large tidy cat cat litter jugs if i didnt want to invest in targets... but they are kind of small and just because he won 1st place at the florida state competition, and never stops bragging to me about it LMAO doesnt mean i can hit the small cat litter jugs like he does.
 
I was thinking put them on their side, so you have more material for the arrow to get through that is compressed. It makes sense in my head, however I have been drinking a tequila Sunrise every ten minutes since 1800... My brain feels fuzzy.

Yeah, when you say Mr. Hunt I automatically assume your reffering to my Dad. Like Bigghoss said. The name is Todd, but as long as you call me something that starts with a T that's close enough. You can't expect too much from this bunch. ;)
