Someone posted this up at BCUSA. A 7 year old kid getting a deer with an atlatl. I've used an atlatl a few times. They're a lot of fun, and as seen, a serious tool.

decided to service the folder. I didn't like the rough cross-ground surface on the inside of the back spacer. It catches crud. Took the opportunity to smooth it and another surface a bit on the stone. One of the frame panels had some slight corrosion from riding IWB all summer, so I scotch-padded it off and lubed everything. Brass washers. Nice. It feels clean and tight now.

Nice, Daizee. I see you removed the micarta?

the second photo is the inner assembly before the scales and clip were re-attached. The frame screws and pivot are hidden under the micarta when it's all back together.

WW you should get Julio to make you alligator skin patterned grips for the Choppy to mach the leather pattern on the sheath. That would be the icing on that cake for sure.

That Atlatl video is pretty sweet! Good for him. I've seen a couple videos in the last day or two of young guys getting a deer. In WI, youth can hunt under the mentor hunt at 10-15 years old or 12 and older with completion of hunter's safety. My son is really itching to go, but he's got 2 years before he's 10.

That would be cool looking!! But im so rough with this knife i would most likely mess them up if made with leather.

I do kind of wish the handles were easily removable with drilling out the tubes, id have already had some wood ones made for it.

But being a discontinued pretty expensive knife, i wont mess up the handles.

They're really fun, even just for target practice. I was in Rockome Gardens, near Arthur, Illinois, and there was a guy there selling them. He let people use one to check them out. It was fun, and somewhat easy to master. We were also at an old Indian village in Mitchel, South Dakota, and there were some for use. We had a blast.

WW, you would appreciate the package I just received. The shipper made an envelope out of an inside out pepsi box. Brilliant!
No pictures though, I promptly cut it up: A) to test out my new sharp. B) This is a Coke household!

In on page, uh, lessee here, 36 it looks like. This is what they call winning.
