WW - there are 2 Woodcraft stores close to philly - Downington and Wilmington.
give them a call and see if they have any Walnut.

Thanks man!! I just called and they told me id have to buy a piece larger than i needed, it wouldnt be cut to size or anything but they definitely have plenty of black walnut in stock,

I called multiple woodcraft stores before that told me they didnt have anything big enough, they told me to go to a lumbar yard, but this place in dowingtown has it in stock and large pieces.

Thanks man, its about an hour from me but its the closest place i have found that has it so i will make the trip, again i appreciate the info bud!!
 
just be careful - they have a LOT of really nice exotics in a variety of sizes and shapes perfect for knife scales and/or carving.

No really, i love wood and even if i didnt have a use for it in mind, some i just couldnt say no to. I have no tools right now to shape scales and stuff, but that wouldnt stop me from buying the perfect wood for scales!!

Pristine cutlery annoys me. I'd much rather see pictures of cutlery that has been rode hard and put away wet :) Have fun, bro!
 
Happy Friday fellas! I'll be in my shop today working on back orders... I wish I was out camping using my bk10 battoning wood all day!

it hasn't been updated in a while. busy. lack of demand. specs easy to find on current models. that kinda thing. you're probably the only one that read it recently ;)

You kidding? That is my goto place for Becker Info. It is also the place to go and just drool for a minute or two.

I have about 300# of rough-cut 5/4 black walnut boards on hand. It's not particularly figured, but it's well-aged and stable as can be. I use it for strop-boards and planter boxes and bird-feeders and stuff like that, and I will probably never use it all. Frankly it's just taking up space in my shop. If you need a chunk let me know, I'll cut some off and send it to you for shipping cost. That goes for all Beckerheads :)

Man that is so awesome of you and i will for sure take you up on that, but if you would ship it to florida to my father as he is the one that needs it. But the thing is he needs a piece 2 foot long and 6" wide at minimum and 1" so 5/4 would be perfect if you have a piece that size. I asked if he could use multiple pieces as the 1st wood shop i called had it but in 1 foot boards but he needs a single board. If you have 1 this size i can give you the address to get a shipping quote and once you have the shipping price just let me know and ill send you a money order if that works for you. I dont have paypal so money orders is kind of my only payment method unless you want a brand new condor rodan with leather sheath you could have it if you preffered if shipping cost is less than the cost of the knife and you prefer it, but i dont mind either way ill send the money order no problem. Thanks very much for the offer either way. i know a piece this size will be a little pricey to ship so just let me know and ill get whatever you want to you as soon as i can get to the post office.

Heads up, folks - just put a couple of CRKT Ultima's on the exchange, willing to trade for Becker stuff if anyone's interested. Numbered 'Heads pm me if you are looking to trade...I'd be interested in a 24 w/scales, full size micarta, a user 3,15 or 17...I have a 9, 7, Camillus 2, 11, 13 and 16 so if you have stuff you think might work for those just make me an offer. Supposed to have storms here all weekend. I just finished raking and burning., to beat the rain. Have a good time man, and take lotsa photos, pristine, or otherwise. ;)

We've got demand :D. Indeed, I admit that I don't just go there for reading but for drooling as wel. A daily knife fix, if you will.
