Am I the only one who doesn’t like Spyderco

Tastes vary! Spydies are kind of weird, in a way that puts off some and is downright lovable to others.

I like their kind of weird. And I'm a card carrying steel nerd. Where else am I gonna get CPM 15V in a folder fit for real every day carry?

I wish Spyderco would do an update to the Ikuchi with better steel and a bearing pivot.

I’ve handled them
If you have indeed handled and used any decent, classic style Spyderco, and felt no attraction or excitement ...then you should probably not worry about bothering with the brand . People have differing tastes . Plenty of other great brands/ makers out there . 🤷‍♂️

Back when Spyderco started out , or soon after , I couldn't understand the excitement at all, just seeing them in ads or magazine articles .

They just looked strange and weird to me . Kinda like an ugly bird's head . :p

Then I saw some movie ,or maybe read a book, that had the Police model( IIRC ) featured in a fight . 🥷

Had to order one to try for myself . Once I handled and used that all stainless, early Police model , it all made sense . Carried that thing for many years .Loved it !

Function and performance = beauty , IMO . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Only have one...a Delica gifted to me by another member. Added it to my EDC rotation, and it's a heck of a slicer, but not sure I'd get another one.

Personally, I think 90% of Spyderco knives are butt ugly.......My first was a Vallotin sub-hilt nodded by the master himself, Butch!!!!! Unfortunately I sold it. I also own a subvert, A pattada and a GB 2......
Really don't want any others except a Vallotin again😉

Spyderco is not one of my perferred brands. I have owned quite a few, and the syder hole makes the blades too wide and many are bulky in the pocket because of it. I prefer slimmer streamlined blades, and opening holes sort of ruin that most of the time. I have a couple Spyderco left, and still drool over the GB2, but overall I typically look elswhere. I happen to like Benchmade a lot.

I bet if you try hard enough you could find at least one that you would like, but I wouldn't loose any sleep on not buying any. Plenty of manufacturers out there.

I’ve never been a fan of finger choils, and find their ergonomics to be often times weird and overly complicated.

I like the way they look. The big reason they’re one of my favorite companies is because they use so many different high end steels, and generally seem to have a great reputation for solid heat treats. They’re performers.

As the title states. I have never owned or had the desire to buy a Spyderco. I’ve had friends who love them and I’ve handled them, but they are just not my cup of tea. Am I the only one with no love for them?
I don't like them either. They remind me of pterodactyl heads. I respect that other people like them and I recognize they are quality products. Just not for me.
