If we wanted to put our names up for the list so that we could get the more affordable pre-order price, could we cancel if we cannot come up with funds?

Owing to the delay for the patents problems Molletta and I have decided to extend the dead line for the lower prices till 20 Jannuary 2010.

Of course everybody can cancell his name when he wants, but after 20 Jannuary the price will be 295.00 Euro.

The final price, within 20 Jannuary, in US will be: 195.00 Euro plus 15.00 for delivery. For two knives there will be no delivery cost.
The knife will be sent directly to everyone house in the first days of March.

Do you expect payment before the knives are produced, or only at the time they are ready to be shipped?
 
I was fairly vocal early in this thread and since those that have more knowledge about the subject arrived I have kept quiet and just watched what was said to keep up to date on the knife progress. I know nothing about this knife or those that are making it other than this thread. I think I need a little more knowledge about the knife and be kept up to date a little better to put up 390E to some random paypal address.

Is there another place we can go to be kept up with the knife progress? Maybe an email list could be created for those who want to be kept up to date on the knife?

A little more information about the knife? What is the exact blade steel? What hardness is being achieved? What are some of the blade steel characteristics and is there another steel it is similar to? Is it closer to 1095 or 440C or zdp189?

Are replacement lock bar tips available? Will the knife come with an extra? How would we get another one 10 years down the road?

What kind of guarantee can we get that our money is safe and things are going as planned? Has production actually started yet?

What kind of warranty will the knife have and do we have any gurantee it will work as it is supposed to?

Are we going to have a choice of anodiziation color?

As you can see there needs to be a little more info given and a better way to be kept informed. I have followed every post in this thread and had no idea of a pre order date. I asked a question earlier and the maker has been back and replied to the thread but not my question. So can we please figure out a way to keep everyone informed on this great knife? Thanks!

FlaMtnBkr, those are some very good questions. :thumbup: I have been silently awaiting more information before committing to a multiple folder pre-order, myself. :)
 
I think that this would be a great folder. I love Italian Craftsmanship, and they make some fantastic guns and knives. There are a lot on innovative items on it, but there are way too many questions on my mind. I have had some bad experiences pre-paying for something that is only a promise and a prayer into the future.
giannip68 and Malleto seem like stand up guys, but I will wait for the reviews and if it all comes together, be happy to pay the higher price. :cool:

I second that...Especially the lefty part...we deserve to be loved as well :D

I'm not in a spot where I could preorder one of these and with the questions that aren't answered yet I'm going to start putting money aside and wait to hear what the people preordering say.

I have to say though I love this knife, as long as theres a black handle option I'm in heaven.

Can titanium be anodized black? Is there a aluminum type 3 hard anodization equivalent for titanium? It would be nice to have a couple different color options including just a natural ti finish.

I've seen titanium carbon nitride (TiCN) but never a ano'd black. I believe it can be done but its harder then a teenager on viagara. Dark brown is the closest we can get methinks.

Now how about a Rainbow/Aurora ano? That would be pretty darn sweet.

Back to topic, some progress pics would be nice. A price list of optional items (like replacement tips and stop bars) would be nice and maybe the blade and handle prices.

Whatever it is I personally have a couple of things I need to be done on the shipping. Basically I need to label the package as TOOLS and putting a 35 buck total value on it. No insurance but as long as the tracker shows it leaves the country of origin then I am fine. got 100++ blades from Bladeforums and Ebay with this method and not a single problem for my sellers.

Tq.

PS: Choice of colors can we choose no color? I don't want to baby my blades for fear of handle scratch marks.

I'm not speaking for Gianni, but I can give a few answers:

- There is a choice between sandblasted grey, bronze and purple anodised handles.

- Payment is not towards "some random Paypal address", it's a Lion Steel address which is a decent company.
- If you want the discount, Payment should be in on 20 January, and I think (my assumption) that some work has already been done then - Gianni noted that work was about start. Anyway from the buyer's point of view it's a pre-order.
- The other place to keep up with progress is the MCKF forum
