An ambitious folder.

If it is going to be a little while until we have to pay, then you can put me down for 2 as well. I seem to normally buy knives in pairs. Will we have a choice in the anodized color?

Looks like a very cool knife, but I am wondering what kind of warranty you will offer on this guy?

It looks like a hard use knife...wil it have a hard use warranty?

Thanks in advance

What do you mean for you hard use warranty?

For all the knives we guarantee all the manufacturing or materials problems for a normal use of a folding knife.

Looks like a really nice folder! There's a lot of good thinking in this one.

I don't know how the Robo lock works, but I'd definitely consult with a US patent attorney before selling this in the US (or you could skip to the chase and call Rick Hinderer and license whatever aspect is applicable, if any. It would probably be cheaper in the long run than dealing with lawyers.)

A quick (2 minute) patent search yielded this, which looks like it may be quite relevant:

http://www.google.com/patents/about?id=Y-ydAAAAEBAJ&dq=hinderer&rview=1

It's a device of Rick's that, best I can tell, functions the same as the Robo Lock (same basic idea, at least).

This would be a concern in addition to any earlier Hinderer Stabilizer claims the Robo Lock might 'read-on'.

Great knife overall, though!

I think Rick's is just to prevent over extension of the lockbar when unlocking.

The Rotoblock if I'm correct makes the framelock folder into something like a fixed blade by rotating the block (Rotoblock... gettit :)). By screwing the Rotoblock to the position where the lockbar is at then you pretty much prevented unlocking the lockbar.

I'm guessing only at this stage but molletta might confirm (or not cause he is worried about patent issues).

The link JCaswell provided shows a patent granted to Rick Hinderer, in 2007 (long after the original HLBS came about), that is a modified version of his HLBS, which, by use of the angled/ramped HLBS disc, can be rotated to secure/wedge the lock bar in the locked position.

Thanks for the explanation. I was only basing the hinderer disc with what I own. The ZT300 you see and there was not securing the lockbar into place function as far as I can tell. Is the newer version available yet? This feature is very neat.

Come on guys... another 189 more to go!

I'm waiting for it

Looks interesting. Move the clip and I'd be all over it. That's a huge folder to be sinking into your pocket, especially with that low rider setup.
ignore this one look below

I am in, even if you decide to do without the Rotoblock for patent reasons. And please keep the blade tip shape and the holes on the back of the handle.

I just wanted to add that maybe the screws holding the lock face should be more recessed...
