Apparently, the theory is that he is amplifying the reflected light off the magic stone finishes of his Durba's to create a mega-laser so concentrated that it is unknown at this juncture what could withstand its energy.
Of course, it is entirely possible that given Tsimi's (Aqualung/Phantom/Khukzilla, his shapeshifting is endless) mental state, he may have come to some harm during his "research".

One possibility is that Tsimi has been experimenting with advanced "alien" computer technology to hack into the internet and take over world banking from his cave... not for any sinister reasons, just to fund his "research." This is why he hasn't been able to e-mail anyone, he has his computer hardwired into some monster's contraption (remember ET phoning home???).
Walosi mentioned that his WebTV e-mail alert has been flashing and chirping without any e-mail being in his box... Could this be the "Researcher" testing out some new stealth e-mail trick that he developed from said aliens? What better way to get UBDOTDs.

HMMMmmmmmm.... I saw a title at B&N this weekend, something about the "Faith of the Khurked Way". I believe the author was Elron Scabbard, but the clerk jerked it out of my hand, because it was in the "restricted reading" category, reserved for people over 80. First time in years I've heard "you're too young". "You're too old" I hear just about every day.
The dust cover photo was a cave entrance, with a figure in a cape, surrounded by tired bears and dancing girls.
When I asked the clerk if she had read it, she just blushed and ran into the back room. He may have already published _something_....but what???
