I use to know a guy with a pet gator. Same guy had about 30-40 different snakes including a bunch of rattlesnakes and a few turtles too....

So, the county fair is in town. I worked at our churches food booth a couple of times but last night the wife and I took our two kids, my niece, and one of my son's little buddies. I gotta say, I don't consider myself better than anybody with exception of thieves, child molesters and politicians, but man, my self esteem went way up and my faith in humanity went way down I'll tell you that much. What has happened to people in general. Teenage girls walking around half naked, some pregnant. Kids acting out kicking and screaming in the walkways.
My kids are 10 and 11, I swear I saw kids there age or younger walking around smoking cigarettes no parents in sight. That's not near all. What has happened to common courtesy? I cant tell you how many times I got bumped into, toes stepped on or cut in front of in line with no so much as a sorry, excuse me, kiss my ass or nothing. I had to get out of the midway before there was a homicide. Most likely caused by me and my fuse running low. I kindly stepped away and went to the animal barns. My kinda people there. Lot of people I know showing hogs, cattle, horses. It didnt take me long to locate a beer in one of the coolers. Lol ;)
 
I hear ya Todd!! I cant handle the ignorance so i avoid it as much as possible. What you are describing sounds like any day that ends in "Y" around here.

I see kids around 10 years old all the time smoking, people will literally step right in front of you in line and then look at YOU crazy when you speak up about it. Parents let their kids rule them.....Me and my wife seen a lady rolling her 7-8 year old daughters skirt up one time to make it shorter.. I was in disgust. Nobody says Ma'am or Sir anymore, everyone is out for themselves.... Im not made for the city.

I guess im not done venting, I'll tell how smart one couple was. All the kids we had with us last night had bracelet passes so they could ride all the rides. My daughter wanted me to ride one of them with her. It took 4 tickets to ride, so, I bought 8 tickets cause knowing her she would ride it more than once. 8 tickets cost me $10. bucks. Turned out, I was to tall to fit on the ride. So, trying to be nice, I went back to the ticket line and offered anyone I saw standing in line that had kids the tickets at half price. 8 tickets for $5. bucks to at least recoup some of my expense. I asked 4 different people, no takers, one lady said, no thanks, were going to do the the 16 tickets for $20. bucks deal. Every persons excuse to turn down free tickets got dumber and dumber. I couldn't believe it. I ended up giving them to some random kid. Probably about 8 to 10 years old. I gave them to him cause he was the only kid all night that ever said excuse me when he stepped in front of me.

Glad you made it out without killing anyone Todd. Glad you at least we're able to locate a beer, that helps! I was surprised even with how many people were at Blade, there wasn't really that many blatantly rude people. Besides that one group of Peckerheads, I think that is what they were called.

I think what floored me the most was some of the outfits these young girls where wearing. I felt like I was going to be arrested just for looking, and I wasnt looking because I was enticed mind you, i, I was looking in disbelief wondering what parent on the face of the earth would allow there young daughters out in public dressed like whores and porn stars. Like I said, my kids are 10 and 11, and they was shocked at how these kids where dressed and by how they where acting for the most part.
 
The world when people stop beating their children.....

I already laid out some clear guidelines for how my daughter will dress later in life. Should it not be followed.....hides will be tanned and privileges will be removed (like seeing daylight).

a couple weeks ago I had to interpret a high school graduation, holy crap! The audience was dressed so badly I had the same thought about getting arrested just for having my eyes open. There is something to be said for modesty isn't there? I grew up watching the movies of Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Jane Russell... Women who looked sexy without "giving away the milk for free" so to speak. If only more people had used them as role models instead of Maury Povich eh?

Most mornings I read the local paper while the better half fixes breakfast. My standard comment is "What is the world coming to?" Most days it's directed at some story about meth heads, shoplifting or worse. And worse means just that . . . anything from death of a child because their parent(?) left them in a hot car to a child being killed by the family pet (?) which 'went off' for some unknown reason.

Again . . . what is the world coming to? :mad:
 
Your state is broken, Todd. :D Kentucky isn't really that way at all. Especially in a Church crowd. Which almost everyone is.

My Mom and sisters were at a big amusement park in Des Moine Iowa and there were four (rather attractive I might add) teenage girls and they had been given three extra tickets be accident, and they gave them to us. That was really cool since the tickets were $40 a Pop.
 
Todd, I am also amazed at some people's behavior. I was at Disney in Florida a few years ago and had to use a wheelchair because of a medical problem. While I was going down an aisle in a store, a guy who looked to be in his early 20's, jumped across in front of me. I couldn't stop and he tripped over the foot rest and fell. He got up, glared at me and shouted at me to look where I was going! This was one of the few times in my life where I was at a loss for words. Probably a good thing.:D

Yeah no kiddin, Maury Povich made his money on a TV show dedicated to finding out who fathered the sluts baby. Lol. Make no mistake about it. I'm not trying to say I'm without flaws as a parent cause I'm not. But correct me if I'm wrong here. Isn't the point of being a parent to try to raise your kids to be positive contributing members of society? I saw hardy none of that last night. Its scary to think the future of mankind rests on the shoulders of the youth I saw.

I got bad news for you MM. Kentucky is the same way, your just fortunate enough that your home schooled and your parent care enough to raise you better. Having said that, my kids do go to a private Christian school, I dont know if thats the difference though. I still saw kids from our church acting just as bad last night.
