I'm happy to hear this.. All thanks to BladeForum I think.. But now we want a picture of this accursed knife that you have waited 3 years!! When it arrives..
Jackal,
You Got It Bro!! Someone asked me yesterday if this knife was worth waiting for from Andrew Clifford. And I did finally get pics of it from Him but I am waiting until I have the knife, take my own pics, and post them.
And all in all I'd say Yes, it was worth the wait. Like I said, Andrew Clifford does make great knives. He is very skilled. And I do know that knifemakers are human beings like customers, and I know that things do arise in their lives that they might have to put off work and deal with.
But when you request money upfront, which I've now learned that no respectable knifemaker does, and it is a big No No with most...But if a knifemaker does take upfront money...
From that moment that a knifemaker has a customer's money, then that makes very Little room for sudden atrocities one right after another...and absolutely No Room for promise after promise that your knife is done and will be shipped the next day, and then not shipped, no contact for days, and then shipped 20 days later!
I might be wrong but I just don't think there's Any room for multiple excuses from any knife maker who already has a customer's money!
I do hope and pray that Andy gets on track with Good Customer Service...Because if he can do that, and along with his awesome knife and sheath making skills, then that would help him become one of the Greats!!
My posts here was not to condemn Andrew Clifford or cause him any ruin. Only a person can ruin their own selves and business!
But my posts were simply as stated in the beginning...Which was to vent my frustrations, seek advice from good people of BF, and right some of my own wrongs and encourage Everyone to Never Give Upfront Money For A Knife To Be Made...Not just to Andrew Clifford...But to Any knifemaker who demands it!
And I will close with this: A very very dear friend...no names mentioned, pointed out to me a statement made by someone that is very experienced in the knife world...
And that saying is this: THE HARDEST KNIFE FOR A KNIFEMAKER TO MAKE AND FINISH...IS ONE THAT IS DONE ALREADY PAID FOR!! Y'ALL TAKE CARE NOW!
