Primble Most interesting artifact that time-card  Is that a good wage by 1920's standards? No booze to spend it on though in those days:eek:

Looking forward to seeing yuour latest haul, in the meantime I'll take that Swell-Centre Pen with spear master thank you:D

Regards, Will

It was probably the going wage for that time period, I suspect. You made a good point about the prohibition, however, not so good concerning the swell-centre Pen. :grumpy::eek::D:thumbup:

Great post Al - a fantastic Catt and that is my first close up look of that proprietary compass. The whole knife is just great and great bone too!!:thumbup::)

The porch cats are priceless, as well.:thumbup::D

Thanks, Rob! and thanks for this thread and your contributions to it.

Here's a Link to Tint Champlin's patent in PDF. He was a pretty smart cookie.

I agree Al - it was very interesting to read in the patent application what was needed to make the compass work properly.:)

I got this time card a little while ago, it looks a lot like the one you're getting Primble.

Nice one Mark and it appears that yours is a year older than the one that I have coming.:)

DANDY? Yeah I'd say Primble:thumbup: looking forward to the additional pictures;) Please throw some dimensions in if you would?

Primble - I have no idea where you find so many absolutely beautiful old knives. I'm beginning to think that you have a magic lamp that you rub when you want a new/old knife. ;) :) Seriously though, your new Catt is a real treasure. Just stunning!

Thank you for those kind comments guys. 👍👍:)

The knife has a spear point and clip point, 4 inches closed and 7 inches open.

It is a tad smaller than a slimline trapper.

It came to me in high gloss finish and I de-glossed the blades, shield, and bolsters a good bit today.

Both blades have an outstanding medium pull and great snap, as well. The bone is beautiful and worm-grooved, front and back. I like it a lot. :)

Cattaraugus Jack Knife at 4 inches closed:

This one is a dandy!

More pics of it later tonight. ;):)

THIS one?? :eek::D:eek:
It is a dandy, for sure, but to my inexperienced eye, ALL of your knives are dandy to the max!!:thumbup:
Congrats on another ravishing knife, Primble!
