Nice score Mike!
Happy New Year to all the Catt Hounds on here!!:D

I wondered who beat me out on flea-bay ! Glad to see it was you Mike!
I figured it had to be plenty old when I saw the button hook.

I always find it easier to swallow when I know I was bidding against "stupid money".:)

Nice addition Mike.

Here's a small stockman that was my great grandpas.

Nice whittler!! Here is my latest Catt, it makes 6 that I now have without Little Valley NY on the tangs. This one is marked CATTARAUGUS in an arch over CUTLERY Co. I have 3 marked this way and 3 that are marked CATTARAUGUS in an arch over CUT Co. Derek and I believe they are some of the oldest ones that JBF had made but not sure where they were made.

Perhaps this is a Factory 1 stamp?

Happy New Year guys and thanks for the additions Mike, Lemmy, and Cooper. The early tang stamp is very interesting Mike. :thumbup::)

First-rate finds, Primble; congrats! :thumbup::thumbup:
The first one is groovy! :cool:;)
That black Catt looks like nothing but GOOD luck to me! :thumbup::D

Thank you ! :thumbup::D:D:D

Testiment that I don't get all the Catts - the Catt that got away.

I lost out on this smooth natural bone Catt over a year ago. I thought that I bid high enough to secure it for my collection, but, came up $112 short of winning the auction. It still pains me to think of losing out on it. It is listed in my Cattaraugus catalog and they made it in a spear and clip point:

Question for you if you will please : Bottom Row , Second from Right /// Would you call that a Sabre Ground Spear ????
Outstanding collection that keeps growing Primble. It is great that you are preserving them !!!

I just looked through a bunch of pages of really cool knives. I only have on Cattaraugus. It is the bottom one in the pic.

Yes Harry, I would call it that and thank you good sir ! :thumbup::)

Catt made some fine examples, however, one needs to look out for the crooked shields that some of their workers produced. ;):D Other than that, they were of high quality. :) I love their unique swedges, indian trail bone, dye and jigging.

Fine character on your only !
