Nice score, Mike!! Makes a great NYK backdrop!!!

Boy; the bone was phenomenal on the old knives made way back when. I wonder if they did their own jigging in the 1920's or did the bone suppliers (Rogers?) do it

I just acquired this Electric Cutlery Co. pen knife which, I believe, has ties to the New York Knife Co.

If you don't mind me asking, and only if it is appropriate here, what tipped you off to this being possibly from NYKC? I have a knife I believe may also be made by NYKC, but I'm inexperienced and haven't had much luck trying to identify it myself.

It is described at length in the Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery markings. 😊

Please post any knife identity inquiries in a different thread, until you know what you have, as this is a history thread. ;) 😊

Very handsome Electric ⚡Bryon ! 😊

New York Knife Company was a huge operation and would have had the machines and laborers to do their own jigging. 😊
I suppose that during the last decade of operation (1920's) it might be possible, but, highly unlikely. By many accounts, only night watchmen were employed after 1929.

I have kept an eye out for that sleeveboard for a long time. I have an old crusty one with nice worn bone, but, wore out blades. Might be my most wore out knife.

Nice to see one nearly like it, only pristine !

Fantastic find Mike !   😲😍

Fantastic Mike, they're in amazing shape! Love those old matchstrike pulls.

Eric
Hey Eric; was NYK part of that historical Bone Shop collective handlemaker??
