Tremendous atmosphere on this thread. Wealth of historical images&analysis, remarkable knives and Primble survives self-immolation :D:D:thumbup:

Thanks in particular to Charles and Lyle for Olympian examples.

Regards, Will

I'll probably never acquire knives like those whose photos have been posted in this thread. But it's great to see the photos, read the history, and enjoy the enthusiasm of members for their knives!! (Plus, there's Primble's reminder of the dangers of multitasking :D)

It's been a great thread. Here are few I've had/have over the years:

Wonderful work and will be interesting to see the displays that come to fruition from it!! Thanks, Primble!

I saw that Robert Kidd offered one of the picture above and could not help but think how the Timeline of Walden itself is so inextricably linked to the history of New York Knife Co

There were a LOT of historical markers between the time Tom Bradley arrived and not so much after the knife companies declined. ;):o

Interesting to ponder! A good timeline can really give one a new perspective.

An interesting tidbit ...Tom Bradley was with the 124th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, commonly known as the Orange Blossoms. And so many of the beautiful pearl knives (lobsters) Charles regularly shows are so named. Many made by NYKCo

Big like 4 inches closed or ??

A very beautiful specimen Charles.:)

Jack is 3 1/2" closed, but since I prefer smaller knives seemed big in my collection. Snap is like a trap with nickel silver liners as well.
Charles

Mike that lockback is an amazing piece!!

Another nice one Charles, and it seems almost everything is relative.
