Any Adamas lovers?

I would buy that blue scaled version in a hurry if it were possible.
And of course tip-down carry is better ;-) Simple physics.
With Keyman, just about anything is possible, including blue/black G10 handles for the 275...

what no photos yet? here some pron...

Nice pics! I have the black Adamas. Want to get the tan as well... have you had any issues with the tan scales? I've heard anecdotes that the tan is a surface treatment and it's black underneath.

Not hating, just wondering WHAT kind of draw would "tip down" be conducive to, honest question

It is the only way that I can draw a knife and NOT require extra steps to reposition the knife in my hand so I can open it. I have several knives that are tip up and I cannot draw and open them nearly as quickly.

Carrying tip up in the front pocket makes sense if the knife isn't too big. You can reach your hand all the way in and basically have your hand in the correct position as you draw the knife.

It is almost impossible for me to get my hand in my jeans pocket with my knife clipped in, and if I did put my hand in and grabbed the knife my hand would not come out of the pocket. That is why I pull the knife out with my thumb and first finger on the very end. I've seen videos on youtube of people putting their hands in their pockets and pulling their knives out, apparently it works fine if you are wearing pajamas or sweat pants, neither of which I ever wear.

I tend to forget though that some people carry their knives in their left front pocket or their rear pockets, and different clip positions would be needed for them.

Well I'll be darned. I didn't know that but just looked up photos and some axis AFCK's are drilled that way. I have 2 AFCK's, both liner locks, and they are only drilled for tip down.

BM 275 Adamas is the best hard use folder on the market right now, imo. At its price point, it out performs everything else out there (ZT/Spyderco/Strider). The only knife that comes close to matching the Adamas at a reasonable price point is the CS Voyager series, but BM's D2 steel is light years beyond AUS-8.

I was going to put the ZT 0200 in the same category. I have not compared them side by side but the size and apparent toughness seem similar, and the price is similar, but the ZT's steel isn't quite equal to the Adamas.

I am another who would like to see more knives set up for tip down carry.

It seems that all of my old Benchmades and old Spydercos were tip down. I learned that way it works best for me, but a lot of new designs that I like are backwards so I've had to adapt to them.

That would be nice to see. Any chance you did one of these in orange?

i'd be down with the gray and od green versions (as long as it wasn't paint). those look great john.

Can one of you Adamas lovers pop off a scale and give me a measurement on the thickness?
Is it .187" (3/16") or maybe .130" or .125" (1/8")?
Thanks....KM

Just looked at your examples, and whatever you're cooking up, I'm buyin'..... :-)
Though I do think that wood scales on this thing would be killer!

I want one, but won't own a blade with a thumb stud. BM, make a thumb hole version and I'm on the pre order!

That's gotta be kinda limiting your options I would think

I was looking at mine and I think if you were a tool and dye craftsman you could takeoff the thumb stud and drill a hole

I for one, LOVE the Adamas!!! :) Here's my user, #918 of 1,000 First Production Run:

I had stropped the edge prior to this photo with green Chromium Oxide compound on a 1"x30" leather belt. I have since thinned the shoulders of the edge a fair bit and put a wicked sharp convex edge on it. :D I LOVE BM's D2!!!

I have one, It's a bit bulky for an EDC. Imagine having a 14 round 40 cal magazine in your pocket all day. The D-2 is very hard, but holds an edge well. I hate to call it a sharpened pry bar, but it sure isn't a slicer.

EDIT: @ keyman, I took one side off and measured it with my caliper. It is .189 at it's thickest, close enough to 3/16.
EDIT AGAIN: @ keyman, That 710 with the blue CF is super hot!

i find the adamas appealing, but at almost 8oz i have no idea what i would use one for.

anything a knife can do, it may not be shaving sharp but I got mine to slice paper nicely and with enough time and I believe it could be just as sharp and any knife to own

mine isn't factory edge, I stropped it but its almost the original factory edge

Is far from a factory edge. Hair whittling sharp. but it will never be anything more than a fighter. Slashing/stabbing. Try cutting an apple or carrot with it and all you will do is split it.
