Any love for Trappers?

Another beauty, Trand-- you've probably got more #48s than I've got #53s! But no doubles for me, just one of each.

55 plus a GEC made Scagel at current count with more than a few doubles. Even so, I believe its less than half of the #48s GEC has made. Considering the 1 of 1s they've made, I'll probably never have them all.

Here are a few more #48s, from the second run of Improved Trappers. Collectorknives.net SFO in African Blackwood, Autumn Gold jigged bone, and Jigged Brazilian Cherry.

Traditional or not on a trapper, I like the swimsuit/sowbelly shield on those autumn golds.

This is my first trapper.
I quite like these CRKT's - nicely finished knives..

Hi all!

I am now pretty muche excitingly waiting mailman to bring me my very first Trapper. Waiting is worst of all, especially when I went so much troubles to find one that I liked.

I was wondering if there are any fan's of trapper's who might share pictures of their beauties?

I'll be sharing pictures of mine once I get my Case Wharny Trapper.

My favorite trappers are the traditional serpentine 3⅞" frames.

That is a beauty there Mike!
I have been partial to the Swaybelly Trapper that Queen came out with in their File & Wire line for Schatt & Morgan a few years ago. Just feels right in my hand.

I confess I've eyed the 48 Trapper for a long time. An intriguing pattern with those two long blades, especially that graceful spey blade :)

Update: I just made a deal in fact with a fellow forum brother here for a Northfield #48 just like the one in post #272 above in Cocobolo. Very excited as this will be my very first Trapper :)

Well it arrived this morning and I'm very impressed with it. Very sleek and feels great in hand. It's a full-sized knife at 3 7/8", but I felt an instant connection with this one.

A Cocobolo #48 "Dogleg Trapper" with full-length Calif Clip / Spey blades. Made in 2010.

I love the color and pattern of the cocobolo on that #48!! As a matter of fact, a cocobolo #48 was my first GEC #48. Many more followed it

My first #48:

So is the 3 7/8" serpentine one of the early/original patterns of the Trapper? And which blades were the "original" patterns? I think I've heard it's the Calif Clip and Spey or no?
