Any love for Trappers?

Til now (!!!)

Case Mini Trapper SS Amber Bone
Case Trapper CV Dark Red Bone

Love them both... Already thinking about getting a Carl Schlieper, a Böker, a Buck (all Trappers, of course..)

This Forum make me crazy and my wallet empty.

Kind regards!
Andi

Here's one of my favorites. Too darn heavy for pocket carry but carries very nicely in this sheath.

Mike Alsdorf Slimline Trapper shadow with black linen micarta scales. 3/4 length wharncliffe secondary instead of a spey.

Two Canal Street Full Moon trappers. Antique Green bone and Red Saw Grass jigged bone. These are more than just half moons with spey blades. They're bigger and heavier. These have 440C blades.

This one is a Kissing Crane trapper that's just slightly bigger than a peanut.

I a sucker for a trapper (or any knife for that matter) that have the "California clip blade" such as the case large trapper. its just gives the knife the amazing lines.

Honestly, when I first saw this pattern, I was not in love.

Then I got one from another member here (donated to get me hooked!).

Fits the hand great! Ergo's are very nice!

I think it had some effect on me.

These came in the mail. Big and small one for me. Small for each of my two boys in different colors (6 years old and 19 months......so the little guy is going to have to wait!)

Scharade shield. The blades are 1095 (these were made by GEC for Scharade in 2004?).

I had to hit the kick on the clip blade with my belt sander (just a kiss to get it below the handle, and stop poking my finger).

The clip blade on the smaller one of mine may need just a kiss on the grinder too.

The dealer said if I sent them back to GEC, they would fix it, but it was not worth it.

I can't believe the difference in the hand between the 2 blade #23 and the single blade #23 (larger). The weight difference is significant!

I though the rear bolsters on the single #23 would some what make up for the 2nd blade and spring.....but it is not even close.

Now, I think I need some Barlow Jacks.

Those GEC trappers are really something. When they were introduced, I remember looking at them and thinking "Heyyy, that's not a trapper....!" because they're so different from the traditional pattern offered by all the other makers. They really do look like solid tools, though; someday I suppose I'll have to pick one up and see what they're all about (once I'm able to drop that kind of coin again... haha).
