Any news about Maher & Grosh?

$230 or not… it is crazy these are sitting around not selling like a 97 or 19 hahah. If you love 97’s sorry bout it… I said what I said. No one loves 19’s.
I love my 19. What's wrong with 19s?

I'm not sure about 97s because I don't have one yet, but I'd certainly give one a try. I hear they're similar to the 2022 Remington Granddaddy Barlow Bullet Knife and I love that one - so maybe I'd love 97s too. What's wrong with 97s?

Also, I don't see any 19s or 97s at any of the dealers listed on the GEC site. I guess they all sold.

The recent Remington granddaddy Barlow was similar price and sat around for about a week as well if I remember correctly. Also all stock on that one was (basically) held by one retailer. Makes you wonder how much easier this would all be if this were standard procedure 🤔

Alot of it has to do with fascination with jigged bone, especially amber.i find that I prefer jigged bone above all else, but once I have reached a saturation point I could definitely appreciate exotic woods.but I like many are on the trail of the elusive jigged bone.i could see myself after I have acquired at least 2 or 3 gec jigged bone then turning my attention to wood.i have an ebony handled hj that has really impressed.heck you see old knives with the blades on its last legs yet the ebony handles are near mint.

Received my cocobolo with spear shield in today - pics to follow in the day light - and I am very impressed! Well put together, no gaps, no play.

Only issue is that I cannot for the life of me open the punch without a pick! Anybody else having this issue? The main blade is a perfect 6.5/7ish, but the punch must be a 12. I’ve thoroughly oiled and set the punch at 3/4 to see if that makes a difference - fingers crossed it does!

It was a joke. I have a lot of 19’s. When I decided to collect them, I bought them all in a few days because they are so hard to get.

Antique Yellow Jigged Bone is very popular.

I had one 97, I like it. The big blade is substantial. so it feels not a slicer but a heavy duty knife. For this function, the pull on such a big knife is too light for my preference. Overall it is still a beautiful knife.

I tried one and it was a gorgeous Ebony Northfield... wasn't for me. Super light pull, super heavy, ugly shape, I prefer other huge slip joints with gator snaps like a 23 or 23L with a useful flat grind if I ever use one that large since I always carry a ZT. I like the English Jacks a lot - they basically look like a stretched out 15 with something similar to a GEC 15 2014 snappy action... which is the quintessential perfect swell-end, gorgeous knife pattern that has it all. Which is why 86's are gorgeous but kinda fat.

I carry a single blade 86 clip a lot that weighs 1.7 ounces... today I have a ZT 0566CF and a GEC15 Soda Scout... natural paper micarta that looks like caramel :)

I ordered my Satin Cocobolo in the first minute of the drop and still haven't received a shipping notice. I guess they must be pretty overwhelmed 😮
They did send an email today saying that some of the early orders had trouble due to website issues. They are working on it.
