Any Winkler fans?

😂😂😂👆🏽
By the way next time i’m at the WK store i’ll pick up a bigger can. $15 well spent. In the mean time this .5oz can will last a long time.
Thinking about making the trip there, roughly a 7 hour drive for me.

Man, I'm AMAZED how far that sh!t goes.

A slight "film" on my index finger will damn-near coat the whole blade.

Yep. I used a cotton ball which i’m sure had me waist a little but i did Huntsman,BRH and Field knife and their leather sheaths and only used a 1/3 of the half ounce can.

Boru13 Boru13 7 hours is a long drive. But if you plan a mini vacation around it the Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful. Especially in fall at the changing of the leaves.
I recommend giving them a call to make sure they are well stocked. They don’t always have every model as i suppose they are in high demand for online orders.

Does anyone here have experience putting a convex edge on their Winkler? I'm thinking about it but don't want to fuck up and grind off a lot of the coating in the process. I assume you'd just grind down the shoulders off the edge and smooth out any more jagged angles that form as a result?

Looking at the Winkler SD1. Who has one of these and what are your thoughts? I just ordered the drop point crusher with sculpted maple and have been looking at the SD1 or SD2 with the G10 multicam. Thinking the SD1 since I already have a blade almost identical to the SD2 drop point. If anyone has one they are tired of I would be interested. I posted in the WTB section.

Now if there is a better route for this knife whether a different model or different maker I am open. I have a guy on another forum that makes knives and one thing he said about the Winkler vs his knives is they have the name so hold their value. I am not a collector but a user. I have a 3" blade that is 7" OAL that Paul made for me and its almost too nice for edc or digging in the dirt kinda. I'm fairly new to fixed blades so bare with me as I don't know all the ins and outs. Thanks.

The SD1,Blue Ridge Hunter(BRH)and the Belt Knife are the same knife in small, medium and large.
I have the BRH and wanted a smaller SD and went with the SD 2 as I didn’t want basically a small BRH and liked the small drop point blade But the SD 1 is a really nice knife as i handled both at the store.
The thing i like the most is the option to carry EDC in my front pocket or IWB as it’s so light you forget it’s there until you need it of course.

How do you carry yours? I want to carry owb but the single clip is not very secure. Not that it will fall off but it’s hard to get out and put back. I talked to Kaela at Winkler and have ordered a second clip. Hope this works. I have also reached out to a friend that makes knives and sheaths about making me a leather sheath for it. By the way I bought the SD1 sculpted multicam.

Ahh very nice. The single clip is ideal for iwb or clipping inside your front pocket like a normal folding knife with a clip. I have carried it both ways. Also back pocket knife inside with clip outside. Usually when i pocket carry a pistol.
My spyderco gets back pocket duty when front pocket is ccw.

Winkler belt knife is definitely one of those knives I want to own one day. Too bad they are almost double the price here either from retailer or shipped and taxed.

Old pic of Winkler bottle opener with my own pocket sheath and my regrind/sharpening choil. One of the knives I wish I didn’t sell although for me it was mostly fancy weekend knife.
