Any Winkler fans?

While I appreciate your enthusiasm for Winkler knives and your willingness to help, you need to stop posting links to non supporting dealers.

It’s against the rules nor is it fair to the dealers who help support BF’s with their paid memberships.

I didn’t even think about that? He seemed to be just trying to help me find a knife. Would it be ok if he sent that to me in a PM? Just asking in a teachable moment.
Also where do you find this dealer support list?
Thanks
DN

I understand as my post indicated but it’s still against the rules and not fair to the dealers that support BF’s.

He doesn’t have PM abilities since he’s a registered user, if he did however, what’s discussed in private is private.
Also where do you find this dealer support list?
Thanks

I was gifted an SD-1 maple a couple weeks ago along with this watch, both of which I've carried almost every day since. I also have this patch on my bag so I guess I'm one of "those guys" now.

I was initially a bit disappointed how thick the SD-1 was behind the edge, and how poorly it cut as a result. It took a couple hours on the belt sander to bring the edge down to ~15 DPS at the dismay of the person who gifted it to me and now it slices a lot better. I'm a big micarta guy and this is my first wood handled knife. I was immediately struck by how beautiful the maple handles are, it remains to be seen how well they'll hold up to use but I'm not too worried.

I've already but the little knife through a lot in a couple weeks time including prying a stuck bolt out of a Mk-19 machine gun and it hasn't disappointment me yet. I handed it to someone to cut zip ties off their rifle and winced as they smacked the knife against the rail of the rifle with each cut causing the edge to deform a bit (but not chip). All the rolls were very quickly honed out in 4 or so passes on a ceramic rod and the edge restored with a couple minutes of stropping which reminded me of why I love Winklers basic ass 80CrV2 steel.

My apologies. I guess I didn’t read the rules good.

I appreciate you trying to help me out.
Think about becoming a basic or gold member. It supports this great forum and it’s really not very much to sign up. No pressure though but like Boru said you can then PM as one of several benefits.
Thanks again

For those interested.

Around the 9:55 mark Daniel briefly touches on a new model hopefully coming out next year that blends the discontinued Camp Knife (9 3/4" blade) and the discontinued Field Knife (5 3/4" blade)... I'm guessing something with a blade length around 7-8" given his blend comment.

I’m still hopeful they will have a SD2, Huntsman, Contingency, or Operator in the Maple Tribal. But i’m not in a hurry. I actually like the anticipation and will relish the day when i call and they have one i can ride up and get.
Would even consider another BRH or SD1 or even the bigger Highland Hunter. As you can see i’m easy.
I really like the blade to handle transition on the Highland Hunter just targeting the smaller EDC Winklers.
