Any Winkler fans?

So I managed to score one of the last Twenty 25's. After placing the order, I emailed the team and requested either 001 or 100; they said they would try but would make no promises. I opened the package this morning and much to my surprise, they sent me #001. I am beyond appreciative of this wonderful company; Daniel and Karen have created something very special at Winkler Knives.

WOW! You really scored big time! When i had a chance to buy a Ironwood Twenty 25 while up at the store in Boone it was 009.
I figured you would have to be very special to get a low number? I guess you are special? 😂
They always make me feel special. 👍🏻

Great video. I’m close enough to be able to attend and the wife loves Nashville. Only i visit Winkler Actual store a few times a year or more so it’s like Nashville minus all the extra people. Lol

I can post an update to my post #160 on this thread... I did own two Winklers-an Operator and a Drop Point Crusher, but...

Backstory-my goddaughter's husband joined the Army (a little later in life than some) and is in an MOS that requires them to deploy in either regular kit or plain clothes and non-military pipeline-sourced civilian gear (not combat arms or special operations though). To aid him on getting the best gear he could be sent with, my friend (his father-in-law, who is a just retired 30 year LEO, SWAT, and former 82nd NCO and a huuuge GEAR WHORE 😎) gave him a butt-ton of both late-issue top-line military rucks, and "civilian" gear (Mystery Ranch, etc.), new Salomons, etc., etc. My friend isn't a knife guy though and when he told me about this situation, I told him "Let me take care of that aspect...I GOT this." 😂 I took over a PLETHORA of decent knives that would be excellent military and/or field knives. I first grabbed a NIB Cold Steel SRK, old 90s model Buck Nighthawk in excellent shape (a very underrated/overlooked field knife-I have two!), a Becker, and couple others, but as much as I like my Winklers, my heart told me to throw the Operator in the mix also. I allowed him to handle each one and decide, and he (not a knife guy per se either) picked the Winkler Operator. So I gifted it to him on the spot and it's now with him.
I Am Glad to see the BUCK NIGHTHAWK getting its Due! It is a Very Under Rated Design!!!

BTW Fellas I have Been working myy Way through this Message. I saw Someone Mention The K ife Connection carried a #2 Leather Backer For Lower Carry with Winklers. Well I Have a Few Winklers and Would love a nice Leather back but The Knife Connection No Longer carries them.

Where Could I find a Leather backer For a Field Knife or Belt Knife in 2026????

I recently updated my sheath system for the winkler crusher belt knife. I have a leather backer from The Knife Connection (note, they also make one without a firesteel loop). I added a hole to the top drop loop to allow a tighter fit on a 1 1/2 inch belt. I also added a hole in the sheath so I could add a leg tie down. Now the knife sheath does not move when I do a quick draw. I really love the setup now. View attachment 1917236View attachment 1917237View attachment 1917238
Here Is the Leather Backer I Mentioned in my Last message guys....
