Anyone else just stopped buying knives?

I tend to panic when my numbers reach 15, so I sell down to 9, then panic some more cause is still too many. At the moment I have I think 11, and its really hard for my to buy another because I simply have no use for duplicates. I have my eyes set on a reiff F4 then after that it would be a miracle if I bought another. Takes me a long time to decide on a knife model

made it like a week i think, im sure ill slow down, the frenzy wore off. lets see how i feel once the last purchase hits the mail box

I have essentially stopped.

I feel like I pretty much have everything I want at the moment and the expendable income is better saved or spent others things.

Mostly, I stay tuned to see if something new sparks my interest.

I’ll go through a phase now and then where I’m not interested in buying any new knives. Then I’ll see something online and it’ll hit me like a Mack truck. “YOU MUST BUY THIS KNIFE!!!” Is what I hear in my head. So I buy it. The whole cycle keeps me happy.

I've gone a few years without buying any but every once in a while one strikes my fancy & I have to have it.

I must not be a typical site member.

I have not bought a knife, new or used, in several years. The only knife buying I have done for quite some time is to repace my EDC Leatherman Wave if I lose it (and that does happen.)

A few years ago, I bought a multitool designed for AR-15 maintenance for our son at Christmas. This year, I funded a forging workshop for our son and grandson to do together, as a Father's Day gift. Together they were guided through forging a 4" fixed blade with an antler handle . . .all-in total for that experience was $250 to me.

For my birthday, a family member gave me a big (too big) Spyderco that I don't really like, but i do display it on the elbow table by my recliner. zit opens he mail.

I just don't buy knives to have yet another knife.

I will add one caveat to my stating I’m done for 2023.
That is CRK knives for my personal rotation. I’ll still need a couple to give as gifts ( I started giving Sebenzas to my guys on their 10th year on the job so I’ll need the last one in November)
I also will buy my first Auto next month to say F you to my city gov. The state just passed constitutional carry and included knives with state preemption. Autos have always been ok in the state but the city has an ordinance they get shoved into their ass on September 10th!

Have not stopped. If anything, it has gotten worse. I have pretty much stopped buying modern folders, but channelled it all into fixed blades. In so doing, I have lost all my cheapskate cred. I am now waiting for a Carothers and a Busse. Then I have bought a couple of modest customs off the exchange. And I have undertaken a mild billhook binge, with mixed results.

I still look for cheap knives, and use mostly cheap knives, but spend more time thinking about handles, which is what drew me into the more spendy knives in the first place.

That's one thing I'd never do, buy for the handles, give me walnut and brass rivets and I'm good
