Anyone else looking forward to the GEC #83?

Looking at the new pics in teh What's Happening section of GEC's site... is this a trick or perspective or are there a longer set of handles on the right? There's no mention of another run of 72 or 73s on their production schedule...

Look at how the boards of that tray are nowhere near parallel... Though it's a pretty extreme trick of the camera, I'm guessing it's that.

Looks like it'd be a cool pattern though! Haha a slimmer 73

after I posted, I started looking at the pattern of the non-slip mat they're sitting on and came to the same conclusion. That's a really weird camera angle. I wonder if the image's aspect ratio was skewed.

These at Knives Ship Free. I couldn't resist them. This pattern is such a home run for me. Perfect size, flawless execution.

Just got my #83 clip blade Tidioute in Gabon Ebony from Collector Knives, and it's hard to imagine how I could be happier. I suppose it could be sharpened to my specifications, but other than that, I have no complaints. For reference, I often do have minor cosmetic complaints with my GECs, but this one is top notch. No liner gaps, flawless scales, centered blades, etc...

I'm impressed.

Really nice looking. The Creamsicle 83. I wasn't sure about orange bone, but these look good. Not too many light colored ones in this run. If i didn't have my heart set on an ebony clip point, I'd be tempted.

Man oh man.. I usually only buy one knife per run.. my personal checks and balances.. but that orange bone... one micarta drop point and one orange clip headed my way. I might still make myself choose lol

It certainly sounds like this one has turned into a favorite on the porch : ) looking forward to its arrival. Alchemy that picture gives me a good preview. Fresh cut from that knife?

Sorry, just saw this. No, it was a cut from my clip 77. First day I ever carried it...LOL

I'm seeing a "few" Stag Clips around at various dealers, but not a lot. Am I witnessing these trickling in to dealers, or are they being snapped up and this is the dregs?

this is an exceedingly good question. I hope the former.

Spent the day carrying my NF 83 in a CK pocket slip. It really is a great set up and enjoyable to carry. Even with the slip it is extremely thin in the pocket.

Sorry no pics

My dealer did not get any really appealing looking stag :grumpy: So I won't get stuff I'm lukewarm over. Think it may have to be Ebony, no Tortoise seems left. If you dither it goes not hither:eek::D

Will, I think you will love the ebony. I thought I missed the boat on these. I was going to give this pattern a pass but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm curious to see if it will find its way into my pocket over my 81. Maybe on Sunday's.

These are "trickling in". GEC doesn't make dregs.

Now that I'm home from vacation I got to open my 83 in ebony. The wood is beautiful, pattern is a great size, no blade movement in any direction, and lockup as expected. Very nice all around. Has anyone found the pull to be pretty light? I had to nitpick on something and its not like it causes problems or anything but the pull on mine it pretty light. Gotta take some pictures soon and start using the little guy

I am counting on it as I prefer easier pulls, pinchable, or EZ notches. Have always had issues with my fingernails being sensitive ... yeah I know not the most masculine thing to admit but there it is lol :D
