I do think it's funny that nobody cares about NitroV anymore. Compared to Magnacut, that is. Shows you how irrational all this is. Then again, I shouldn't trow stones in a glass house :)

If you are buying folders from specific companies and are frustrated about what they offer, or what they charge, that is a separate issue. The steel itself is great. I can't imagine using anything else for kitchen knives right now. The first time I sharpened it I was amazed at the edge it took.
I can buy a 2" x 3' x 3/32" piece for $110. That's enough for 6 large knives, so less than $20 in steel per knife.
I made three sets of cimiter and boning knives from one piece of stock.

I recently made a different set from the same material.

Very happy with Magnacut.

Thanks again Richard! Awesome Magnacut kitchen knife!

I want to try it, but it’s very expensive. Too expensive right now, especially compared to S35-VN and Elmax.

And I’ll wait some time to see if the manufacturers can get the heat treatment consistently correct. Too many reports of corrosion problems, and that tells me that some manufacturers are screwing something up.

Do you mean that one Guy that's single handedly going to bring NSM, Peters, and Crucible to their knees over decarb issues? Not sure he makes enough knives to know what he's talking about.

Ugh so over it being on EVERY damn knife.

Companies’ charging more for it like it so spesh when it doesn’t even hold an edge like S45.

Even bloody CRK, who should only be allowed to use steels that Chris had a hand in designing, are using magnacut.

Made the knife landscape so damn bland (in addition to every knife being a made in China ti flipper meow). I want variety dammit.

Yeah... it's time for Dr. Larrin Larrin to come up with a superior steel already so that we can nerd over that! 😛

I'm not sick of it.

In fact, after years of being gaslit by the knife community that M390 is the best steel ever, and that it's a super tough steel that's totally a great choice for everything including rough use, I'm happy to finally see the community fawn over a steel that focuses on edge stability and that is better in actual use. This is steel snobbery I can get behind.
