Anyone ever file a paypal claim, for undelivered item?

I shouldn't have a problem getting my money back, if the knives are never delivered. It's all right there on eBay, comes up with the tracking and shows they were in the sort facility Friday night. They never show up they will have to refund my money. That's the way it's supposed to work.
The sellers are including shipping charges in the price now, in many cases. They ship first class mail with only delivery confirmation. It's only a few dollars postage. Overall 99.5% of the goods make it. They have to pay for what doesn't. They are making money by self-insuring as it's far less payout than upping the insurance fees (2 or 3 dollars in most cases) for everything shipped.
I just didn't like how the customer service tried to play me by saying I should wait 30 days and then file lost package with the post office. There's no insurance on the package. She knows that, if they aren't found and I delay filing a claim 45 days I wouldn't ever get anything. Which seems to be fine with them.

I wouldn't leave it to the last minute, especially at this time of year. If the knives turn up, you can always cancel the claim, but give yourself a margin of error.

Aren't you jumping the gun? You know the parcel is close and you know this week is the higest parcel volume deliver of the entire year. I wouldn't even start getting nervous for a couple more days - unless you see a delivery scan and you still don't have the parcel! I don't think it would hurt to give a call to your local po either but I think you will get the standard story about Christmas, high volumes, a couple more days...

When it made it 500 miles in one day and can't make it the last 50 in 3 more days, I tend to be thinking somebody stole it. Yes, I know it may show up this week. I hope it does. The post office really can't do anything besides look up the tracking and see where it left the sort facility Friday night same as I see.
I've had one other instance of a package I sent disappearing, from this same sort facility. It never showed up anyplace again. Funny all the letters I mail always make it. Only thing disappears is packages with valuables inside.
I was just getting a feel for other's experiences with paypal non-delivered items claims. Sure it's too early to file yet and hopefully I won't have to. But, I like to be prepared when a couple of hundred dollars of my hard earned money is at stake.

I was waiting for a couple of First-Class small parcels with delivery confirmation that were mailed in Indiana on Dec 7 and 8. There was no data on the USPS Track and Confirm site at all (I believe that Dec 7 and 8 were the days the USPS product tracking system crashed and burned). I was getting a bit nervous but both of them came yesterday. I hope yours turn up too.

I would give it a couple of days Jill. Its the biggest P.O. ship week of the year. Some temp probably put them in a pile somewhere. I am sure they will get delivered.

I filed a claim 2 weeks ago and got a full refund

ordered a jacket on ebay, waited one month for it and it never arrived
contacted the seller numerous times but when I got tired of it I started the dispute. Then I got my money back in about a week

I guess the package was stolen, I hope none of the packages I'm expecting now get lost ...

Sorry to hear about this situation Jill.
Being a Dealer here at BF and having an online store that uses PayPal, I wholeheartedly believe that it is the responsibility of the seller to make sure the buyer gets the product.

Granted the shipping company has a lot to do with it, the seller has an obligation to the buyer to make sure he or she is completely satisfied with the transaction. I feel this way with all transactions I do here on BF, from the online store, and from the counter.

That is mainly why I send all orders from the website with insurance. I would rather spend the $1.55 to $3.00+ just to make sure both parties are covered.

If the seller doesn't make it right, definitely file the claim.
You could have bought from someone else. You chose them, they should appreciate that.

Apparently you bought it on Ebay. Make a claim with Paypal. Unless the seller supplies documentation that the item was delivered, you will get your money back. You dealt with a lousy amateur Ebay seller but you are protected financially.

No I dealt with one of the largest online dealers on eBay with hundreds of thousands of positives. They still feel no need to do anything about my package and told me my only recourse is to file with paypal and they'd rather I didn't even do that.

I found out just now that the postal service sent my knives to Puerto Rico, yes they had them 50 miles from my house and sent them all the way to Puerto Rico!

Processed through Sort Facility, Dec-14-09, 23:02 PM, CATANO, PR, 00962

I bet that thing shows this week Jill...I sure hope so.

Sounds like you know exactly what to do if it doesn't show this week.
Good luck.

Did they tell you how long it would take to get then back up here?....if not by the 20th I may still file a claim.

The post office just said they more than likely would return eventually. Then they tried to blame the shipper, saying they probably made a mistake. I said those labels are printed off from the order, nobody put a PR address on the package. Anyway, yeah I'll file if they aren't here by the 20Th. Can't hurt and if they do show after that I can drop it.
