Anyone go on a knife binge lately?

Kind of, sold a few to reduce how many I had sitting around and found myself inventing reasons to get some more. I've been on a big knife kick lately but I did get a nice, practical, pointy scandi grind bushcraft knife. BK4 and ratweiler were two other recent acquisitions and I'm on the reserved list for a lionsteel dom with collector knives; their sheeps slippie that should be coming out this summer.

I've actually been on a "wood cutting tool" kick. I have 2 new saws and considering getting a big, old school crosscut and I'm waiting for some rinaldi axes to show up at baryonyx so I can order one of those, and maybe one of their blem hand axe. Of course, the Bk4 and ratweiler are in there as mobile tools for limbing and such.

I don't have pics of the new woodlore yet since it showed up Wednesday and I haven't used it yet.

Nope. The girl is in college and the boy is graduating high school this summer then he is off to college in the fall. Strict budget. Plus, I have enough knives.

This is why I count on you folks spending your money and posting pics. :p

ps. If you need help spending your money, feel free to PM me. I'm always glad to help. :D

From a "recovery" perspective, I can pinpoint where it started exactly. I got a Case/Bose cattleman this morning that didn't meet my expectations. As we say in the program, expectations are premeditated resentments. I quickly relisted it on the Bay and started searching for a new traditional. That was the hole that lead to full blown relapse. Temptation sent me a PM that a Busse I'd been after for a year had just been listed and then I figured I might as well get another tactical folder.

That is an interesting aphorism Have not heard that one before, but it definitely fits most (unrealistic) expectations.

As to knife binges, I try to keep it to a maximum of one knife a month. I really need to get rid of some of the ones that just take up space... to free up some room for binge knives...

That's why I hate reading threads like this, I've been debating about spending $80 for a new knife since yesterday.
You guys are a bad influence!

In the past few months I have bought the following:
1. Shirogorov F3R
2. Shirogorov Sigma
3. Shirogorov HatiOn
4. Shirogorov F95NL (which should be here any minute!)
5. Rockstead Shu
6. A2 A7 Tanto in CTS-XHP
7. LionSteel TRE in K390
8. Jake Hoback MK Ultra
9. Giant Mouse GM4
10. Olamic Busker
11. Spyderco Lil' Native
12. A Zieba in AEB-L (I forget which one)
Does this count as a binge? I usually don't like buying several knives at one time as I like buying one, using it extensively and mentally placing it in my collection.
PS: 13. Esee Candiru
We're like-minded in spreading out the excess. I really like to enjoy one at a time, and, like you, giving it a place in the collection.
Your posted list doesn't really make me feel any less profligate, but at least I know I'm not alone.
marcus52AR marcus52AR is quite right, and, as is often said here, without pics it didn't happen. :D

PS: I agree--nice haul!

Glad I am not alone in spending habits... in 2018 I have bought 15 Spyderco, all super steels, 3 fiddleback forge fixed knifes, and a edge pro with all the bells and whistles, shapton glass stones, down to the kangaroo strop. And I am still checking the exchange daily...

I got on bladeforums last month and quickly realized that my "awesome" knife collection was, infact, amature hour. Since then, 90% of my collection has been sold off. The funds raised have covered a knife or two of my recent acquisitions.

1. BG FSH
2. SFNO
3. She
4. HDFK
5. Green Beret
6. SOB LE
7. Park Ranger
I also have a NMFSH, SHe clip point variant, and a Carothers EDC2 D3V on the way. This has been about 4 weeks. Maybe less...20180420_121212_001.jpg

P.S. anyone got a Carothers FK for sale??

Yes.

2 Custom Emersons, 6 regular Emersons, and a Crusader Forge FIFP. And I'm currently debating a Custom Emerson of the unicorn variety.

Ugh.
