Beautiful stag and great photos ebtide.

This stag has a lot of colour to it.

One type of English stag has colour like Christmas pudding or Dundee Cake, deep and rich.

This one though, is along the lines of pork crackling:D sizzling and beautifully hot:thumbup:

Another favorite.

Beautiful knives Sunnyd and Ran. Sunnyd I think you chose very wisely with the stag version of the German fixed blade. The sow belly is a beauty. Ran I like the wharncliffe with the grooved bolster. Great e.g.s of stag.

Hello S-K,

Thanks again for your opinion on my knives!. I must say coming from you its a real compliment. The picture shown of that old fixed blade, tang stamped: 'Trapper' was purchased at a shop in Pompano Beach, Florida that did not know the craftsman who made it. Years later I researched the knife again and to no avail. What I can say is, at the time I bought it new 36 years ago just before deer season it was white and light brown like new stag typically is. After many deer seasons and lots of use its got a wonderful mellow yellow hue to it that I have really come to like. The cheap leather sheath it came with wore out years ago. The carbon steel on this full tang knife is very stout and had a slight amount of surface corrosion/pitting so I cleaned this knife last year just before photographing it.. I will never part with it and my son has expressed interest in it, so likely it will be passed down to him in my later days.. At some point I have got to find a decent sheath maker to replace the old one..

ps{Any suggestions that anybody could recommend would be much obliged.}

Thank You,
Anthony

You're welcome sunnyd and thank-you for your compliments on my knives. They are much appreciated. I'm sorry I can't help with the sheath maker. The beauty of stag is the development with age. Like a good wine..... your 'trapper' has mellowed beautifully.

One more for today. Shown recently in another thread so sorry for the repetition.
