Very cool, Boss, very cool.:thumbup:

Awesome, just absolutely awesome. I missed out on this since I was at work, but you folks make me proud. Jerry, again, words can't describe the pride I have in being involved with anything Busse.
Recondo, dude watch your six and keep us posted. Thank you for all you are doing, have done and come home safe.

I have been around on this earth for a while and I have seen my share of generosity but I’ll remember this for a long long time.

Jerry Busse really does “get it”.

And I'll drink to that
.

I stand in awe of Recondo4u and the other member's of his team for their selfless acts of generosity and heroism. You truly are ambassadors of the American spirit and your desire to keep your acts of generosity private, speaks volumes about your character.

And I am, once again, humbled by the generosity of the HOGs!. . . My glass is raised to all who jumped in and made this happen. :D

For those who don't get it, well, I guess you never will.

Recondo, First of all I admire you for your service and what you are doing. Especially, now that you have explained a little more in detail. Yes, my posting may have come off the wrong way and I deeply apologize as from your other writings there seems to be truth in your post. But I am over here in Afghanistan as well, and have seen many soldiers taking advantage of companys and personnel back in the states. So before people just start sending off money for someone they should check out the facts. I have seen other here get free stuff from companys or Knife manufactures and then turn around and sell it on ebay with stories. It is sad but it happens. So just trying to caution others. (for example I have personally busted several soldiers for buying Randall knives, which Randall sells to military members overseas with a discount and also only several weeks waiting period, then these Soldiers had bought them knowing they could turn around and sell them on Ebay and sell them for double the price -stating such things as 'used in Iraq" "must sell for Family", "no waiting period, since right now there is a 3-4 year waiting period for a Randall, etc.. and collectors of course eat it up. To me it is deplorable using a Knife companyes generosity, to make a profit. There also have been others in the past -look up old threads- of people taking advantage of Busse this way)

If your team needs funding or money to help Afghan children, send me a PM with more details and your location. I can make some arrangements and coordinate with your commander. I probably have some of my personnel close to your location.

Reading stuff like this, and being a member of BF, makes me feel like I'm a member of a very decent group of people.

Extremely well done guys!

leopardprey, I can appreciate you coming back here and offering to help... I can also appreciate you stating that scams happen, and we are aware of this... But your post earlier was poorly written with regard to what recondo4u was trying to do. You called his integrity into question with your choice of words. He did not ask us to help him, he was just trying to sell his knife. He is well known here to many here, and that is why so many of us stepped up and convinced him to accept our help, and keep his well-earned knife but still accomplish the goal that he & his unit set out to do.

Also, please do not assume that we are a bunch of knife wielding gullible fools. Quite a few folks here are current or ex-military, active LEO's & first responders, and some here also work in certain positions in our government's intelligence community. Others have contacts in these areas and if even one of us felt that we needed to investigate further before offering our assistance, this would have been done. No one here felt that any inquiry was needed with regard to recondo4u, and that is why we did what we did without question. He is a stand-up guy, and a hero in my book.

Again, it is appreciated (at least by me) that you have come back and offered to help his unit help others... Now that you know more. I, however, feel that you still owe him an apology for what was written in your earlier post. I also would suggest that the next time you feel it necessary to warn folks of something, that you choose your words more carefully.

Thank you.

You da' HOG Ham Solo ! ! ! ! ! :D

Well, I too picked a heck of a day to be away from the action :grumpy: I just caught this thread and I too am as proud as I can be of the American spirit that is the Busse family  What a great thing you are doing Recon   I only wish I could have jumped on board. You sir and your team epitomize the great USA  May God bless you for your selfless act and keep you safe until your return home to your family  That is my prayer for you!

mRecondu4u, Thank you for your service to our Country.
To Jerry & the rest of the Hogs -:thumbup::thumbup:

I was not on my PC after early morning yesterday and missed this.

I am touched very much by the heart of the Busse community. And when I saw the pics of the children and what some of our forces are doing to help out from there own pockets I began to cry. Then I saw what Jerry is doing to help. I still have tears running down my face and I can't even remember the last time that has happened.

Thanks for your service Recondu4u, and thanks for opening my eyes to what some of you GREAT men are doing:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks to the Busse room and Jerry also:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: I have never seen anything like this and will remember it forever.

I was telling a friend at lunch yesterday that I though this room had made me a better person. I don't think he really got it. I am about to call him and tell him to look at this thread.

Again, I am truely touched by this. Thanks very much to all of you!!!

Gives me cold chills reading Jerry's post about the SJTAC for the Team. What a way to Bring It to our troops!!
