Very well said Jaxx!!! I too would like to know if there is any thing else we could send to help out. Sleeping bags,sweaters,sox,boots...My stepfather is an retired army NCO in New London,Ct and helps organize drives of such necessities over to you guys.Maybe I could ask him to get on board. Im sure anything can help.
 
This was a really awesome thing to have witnessed here. I felt a lot of pride and admiration reading through all of this. There are some really great guys here, especially Recondo4u. Hats off to all of you, and my thanks to you, Recondu4u.
 
Just caught this, and got to say WOW! Lots of great people here going out of the way to help great people in the thick of it. I have always thought alot of most of the regulars here, not to mention utmost respect for those in harm's way. I must say that level of respect just went up a few notches! (didn't think that possible)

Please Recondo4u, stay safe and remember you and ALL our troops are in my thoughts and prayers.

Reading this thread has impressed me deeply. By reading other threads in this busse forum I already noticed how strong you "hogs" support each other. Reading this one has let me see it's not only the infi that brings and holds you guys together. I've got deep respect for the hog-family, to all who supported Recondo4u, and of course for Recondo4u himself.
Respect is easy to give but difficult to get. And you guys defenitly deserve it.

what gives??? that guys life is in danger EVERYDAY for me,YOU and all the rest of us!! just the fact he is willing to do that is worth $325. in case you didnt know there is no more draft. he is protecting us because he chose too we didnt even have to ask.if he says he needs the money then he does! he wouldnt go through all of this for just $325. over there money may not be gotten as easily as here. you SHOULD be ashamed to write that. thats my .02 cents! willy:mad::confused:

While I normally feel that charity begins at home i.e. here in the U.S.. Projects like what SGT Carter and his team are doing are the kind of things that help stop the spread of terrorism/extremism as well as helping a family in need. Think about it!

The conduct of the HOGS here on this forum, helping this Soldier out , is part of the true Spirit of HOGDOM. It ain't always about the INFI!

I come from a military family...multi generations, both sides etc. My ear drum busted on flight from Meps so they sent me home but...this hit pretty hard

I truly learned the meaning of HOG today and especially that it's about a heck of -a lot more than a bunch of knives-forgive me brethren. I am blown away and I tip my hat to you guys. I am real proud to be an American Hog.

Mainly, it is apparent that the Best of Men Serve.

My rank is non of your concern, but if you must know I just made SGT, and believe me I am rolling in the cash! I was selling the BATAC because I can't tap my home funds. Remember I still have a house payment 2 car payments, insurance, utilities and the trips to the grocery store and that's just basic stuff. MAN your really suck! I will tell the GOOD PEOPLE HERE THAT I AM WILLING TO REFUND EVERY CENT IF MY INTEGRITY IS IN QUESTION! We are trying to raise enough money to put a damn roof that want leak on a mud hut for a family here. Now the secrets out! Sorry to all you good HOG's out there for my rant. I had to say something.

Guys, while I think LP's post was a bit more accusatory in tone than was necessary, I think he was just being a voice of caution. This is not an unreasonable thing to expect. Could it have been a bit more tactful? Sure. I am a man who generally takes people at their word. If your screw me shame one you and if I find out about it, then that will be the last time I give you the benefit of the doubt. I personally have seen nothing but honest behavior from Recondo4u and I have no basis from which to doubt that he and his unit have embarked on a noble effort with the funds provided to them. Let us not forget LP served his country also, Bosnia/Kosovo as I recall. I think we are letting some of his past comments color our perspective of him a bit too much. Maybe I am too much the peace maker. I believe he was just trying to caution us and I believe that Recondo4U is going to use the funds as he said he would. In the end it is not we who would be shamed if either were acting out of self interest. Our giving was done with the right heart and that is what counts as far as I can see it. This is no court with which we try men's characters anyway, somebody pass the bourbon. :D

That's too fancy for me Ken, I'll just take some good old Kentucky Bourbon and go listen to some bluegrass. :)

I mostly just lurk around here because I, like the rest of you, appear to be hopelessly addicted to INFI and well on my way to the poor-house.

Generally, I only speak up when I feel like I have something to add. But when Recondo4u put his knife for sale... that just hit a chord with me. It's just wrong. Obviously, it hit a chord with all of you also. There is no doubt in my mind that if I had not brought it to light, that someone else would have so... no thanks is due to me.

I am a bit floored by the response to this thread... hopefully recondo4u will get back with us and let us know how else we can help.
