Anyone wanna help a vet???

Two important things happened here today:

1) recondo4u should now be able to accomplish what he originally intended...

2) ...without selling his genuine one-of-a-kind BATAC.

I need to finish my wine...

Pass it this way Pro G....my glass is empty:eek:

Time for another

Guys, while I think LP's post was a bit more accusatory in tone than was necessary, I think he was just being a voice of caution. This is not an unreasonable thing to expect. Could it have been a bit more tactful? Sure. I am a man who generally takes people at their word. If your screw me shame one you and if I find out about it, then that will be the last time I give you the benefit of the doubt. I personally have seen nothing but honest behavior from Recondo4u and I have no basis from which to doubt that he and his unit have embarked on a noble effort with the funds provided to them. Let us not forget LP served his country also, Bosnia/Kosovo as I recall. I think we are letting some of his past comments color our perspective of him a bit too much. Maybe I am too much the peace maker. I believe he was just trying to caution us and I believe that Recondo4U is going to use the funds as he said he would. In the end it is not we who would be shamed if either were acting out of self interest. Our giving was done with the right heart and that is what counts as far as I can see it. This is no court with which we try men's characters anyway, somebody pass the bourbon. :D

Well said, PG. If you ever need some bluegrass, give a shout. I have a pretty good collection.

But I mixed my bluegrass with some Cabernet Sauvignon tonight. :p

Personnally, I do not buy it. If the guys want to sell his knife and you want to buy, then by all means buy. But, just giving a guy you do not know at all money, for what purposes or why he needs it, while the thoughts and intentions are good, is not a good idea IMHO. Soldiers make good money in Afghanistan. Tax Free, combat pay, bonuses, etc. I hardly see $325 making a significant difference. Before I would just hand out money, find out why he needs it so desperately. Lost the money in a poker game? R and R in Bangkok? or wife needs money for diapers and rent? What is his rank? Etc... Maybe he just does not like the knife and wants to sell it. Many soldiers have several knifes and some are kept in their footlockers and "travel" around with them and then later some are sold. I have seen a lot of "Special" knives with logos and unit knives sold by other soldiers. My point is, if the knife is really special to him, for only $325 he would find a way to keep it.

"If you gotta ask, you'll never know" Butthead:confused

Pass the pain killers, Jules. I'm about ready for bed anyway! :p

Cheers.

PG: What can I say? You are the Yin to our Yang. But I am sure you have done a lot of Yining in your time here. ;)

Coffee and three piglets running circles around me. And luvin it! :D

LP: Progunner brings up some valid points. Perhaps your post was an earnest warning to us for the reasons you mentioned. However, given your past threads/posts concerning Busse Combat, and its cult following :p, I do not think you are surprised how it was percieved by most. First you are posting what we here felt were negative comments. Which is your right of course. Then you show up here with your post on this thread and we are supposed to think that you are now concerned for all of us and our $$$. Doesn't really click with me but I have been wrong before. ;) What gives? Realy? We can be open minded. :)

That is darned near sacrilegious.

Hey Progunner! Get my PM and PP?

I did on both counts. Sorry I didn't let you know.

Yin, yang whatever it takes. :) No shame in straight edging it TL.

I got in here late but hats off to you Recondo for working so hard to keep giving when you are already making so many personal sacrifices  What a great family we have here at the trough. Nice work guys :)

Recondo, you probably wouldn't come in here asking for help again in the future as evidenced by your rediness to just give more of yourself. Feel free to put me in your buddy list and let me and others know what we can do to help your "adopted" family... or others that may come along. You and your guys are awesome

P.S. Cheers everyone!

I stand in awe of Recondo4u and the other member's of his team for their selfless acts of generosity and heroism. You truly are ambassadors of the American spirit and your desire to keep your acts of generosity private, speaks volumes about your character.
