Anyone Want to Talk Traditional Fixed Blades?

Compliment is an understatement Rob. Very, very nice pairings.

Very nice primble .I love the blueing on the Winchester and colt

Primble, I would say that is a fair assessment. They are very complimentary!
Beautiful knives and firearms! I have to ask, being a lover and cherish-er of all things with a trigger,
I could not help but wonder about the case hardening on these 2 fine examples! ;):eek::D

Thanks, Prim, that's some gorgeous iron!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Magnifique!!!!

Turnbull?

Sublime, Primble!

Very nice Primble. The Damascus goes well with the color case hardened.

Chris

Very much appreciated everyone ! Not a Turnbull, however, Turnbull does some outstanding work. ;):)

Was saving this one for a later date to post, but, since Chris showed up, I reckon I ought to show the bird and trout was not neglected ! It is still one of my favorite knives. ;):D

This one sliced a hole in my shorts as I stepped outside. Marble's Woodcraft. Never used. Not sure on the year, maybe 40s or 50s?

Here's one I've had since 2006. Terry Primos "El Camino". OAL 8.75", 1084 Hand Forged, flat ground, stone washed blade, mortised tang with Ironwood Burl handles. Dan Schevers sheath. Nice hamon on this one and a nice grey patina that has developed.

Looks like the one my granddad carried in the 60s and 70s, while on shore. he was in the merchant marines from the 30s to the 70s.

Cool knife and I'm liking that sheath too.

This is my wife's Mule Team in S110v that was handled in Mexican Kingwood, which is a rosewood and often called Camatillo, by a good friend and his mom made the nice leather sheath. A lovely little fixed blade that takes a keen edge and holds it.

That knife has all the right stuff Gary !!! I like the size of it too ................ and a very nice patina !:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

My Mom bought this Case Arapaho for my Dad before for their first anniversary I believe which was almost 30 years ago. Dad gave it to me for Christmas last year and it is one of my two most prized knives. Lord only knows how many deer and elk this knife has gutted.

That is the type of knife that got me into this hobby. While my dad, or grandpas didn't carry one, I hope to hand down a story like that to my kids and or grandkids. That is one of the reasons why I carry and use mine when I can.

Great knife and story!

Thank you for posting that.

Thanks, Primble. Terry doesn't make knives anymore. He sure did some fine work when he did. I managed to collect a few of his that I'll try and add to this thread.

The Keen Kutter Barlow gives one a better idea of size. ;):D

Some fine looking knives guys!
tiswa60, I'm curious about that one. Looks like a Buck Kalinga sheath but I don't recognize the knife.
Here's one from the Buck Custom shop a few years back. It's just too pretty to use. Elk horn and BG-42.

Hi most of my knives are thriftstore, yardsale finds. The sheath was bought without a knife, no maker marks that I could find the knife was in old tool box I got cheep, it only says Pakistan on the tang but I like it. Total investment is under $5.

Looks like a good deal to me!

Primble - That thing is a beast! Love the grain on it. Would mind posting a shot of the thickness? No worries or rush, just curious sense the whitetail is so thick.

Looks good buddy.

Gary that Buck is so beautiful !!! Looks like you may have unlocked a hidden rabbit hole lately ! The BG42 is a fine steel.

Brett,

Thank you my friend and yes, beast was the first word out of mouth after unboxing it.:eek::D:D

I did not have a good grasp on the size before purchasing it.

I really like it, regardless !

I will do some more shots in the next few days and show the thickness. It is 3/16" on the spine.

I started to put my whitetail in the pic with it, but, the Brute made it look puney and I did not want to do that to my whitetail. ;):D:D:D

Thanks Primble. You've been posting some great looking knives yourself lately. I commented in another thread how much I like that Humphrey "Brute De Forge". It's worth mentioning again. What a great looking knife!

I do have a few more fixed blades squirreled away that I'll try and add to this thread.

Here's one from Tim Steingass. It's his rendition of the Loveless New York Special. Really great presentation ironwood with red liners on this one. I didn't capture it very well though.
