Nice. I'm sure you will like it, however, I will throw this out there. Be mindful with the aluminum because the temperature is slightly more difficult to control than cast iron. The heat from the coals on cast iron spreads out evenly throughout the whole oven, whereas the aluminum tends to focus heat just in the area being heated. There is a tendency for food to be burnt on the bottom/top and still be raw/uncooked in the middle. You may want to practice with it some. Also, you probably know what you are doing with it already, so you can ignore this if you please. I'm just saying this for others who may not know.
I've never been a fan of aluminum dutch ovens for that reason. I saw a lot of burnt stuff by other units when I was in Boy Scouts (and dinosaurs roamed the earth). Aluminum is easy to pack, but hard to cook in. My troop pretty much only used cast iron, so that's what I'm comfortable with.
The Emberlit guy was at Blade, seemed really passionate about stoves, weirdo. Really though, he was really into the science behind it.
You talking about Guyon ?
This guy still had his sanity and he was nowhere near a riding mower.
Is there a thread where us noobs can read the riding mower story? Or is it a Mod secret?
