This, on top of the previous correspondence, was the last straw, and I told him so in no uncertain terms.

LMAO

I've seen how you love to goad folks. Post all of your email responses in this transaction !

I refuse to hold my breath though, as the chances of having this request honored. . . .well. . . . .*sniff sniff*

Except for the mundane correspondence that says very little, I have posted all of the e-mails in the exchange, with the exception of the last one I sent him. It said, simply, "[Expletive] you."

You talk about goading people but have added nothing to this thread but unnecessary rancor. Maybe you live your life allowing people to crap on you; I don't know. I know I don't. That was the whole point of this.

Ok guys!...It's time to drop this, or I'll start tossing out infractions like I did with drunks, back in my bouncer days in a seedy night club.:grumpy:...

FYI, I bought some knives from Phil last month. It was a completely mundane transaction: I send money and he sent the knives. No problems at all. I have no axe to grind with Phil here. Now, on with the post.

Such drama! And over such a relatively inconsequential thing. Let's see if I can sum it up in a nutshell:

Party A advertises knife.
Party B offers to buy it, then sends payment.
Party A receives payment.
Party A doesn't ship knife, but offers an explanation.
Party B assumes he's being hosed and sends email
Party A and B correspond repeatedly to the satisfaction of neither.
Party B receives knife.
Party A feels disrespected.
Party B feels abused and mishandled.
Party A posts negative thread about a buyer who actually paid for their merchandise in a timely manner.
Party B seems unwilling to cut someone a little slack because sometimes things don't quite go as well as we hope.

That sum it up???

I'm not sure this was worth six pages of posts and no telling how many hours of ruminating on both sides. Let me share a story to put it all in perspective.

I taught in a middle school for 12 years. I remember a girl in 7th grade who would start crying almost every Friday before she was to go home. Why? Because on the weekends her uncle would stop by her house and rape her with the full blessing of the parents. We called the proper authorities but if anything ever was done to stop it I never heard of it. If we drew these events on a disrespect scale this little girl's story and Phil's story wouldn't be particularly close to each other.

We have enough mountains in our lives already: why start building more from molehills? Disrespect is a relative thing; that's all I'm saying.

sometimes its just easier to say "to heck with it" & go on with life vs fighting every battle that presents itself in life, believe me i know i have tried it both ways lol, there are a lotta folks who are gonna get your bloodpressure rising if ya let them, thats just life & ya gotta not worry about the smaller issues.

of course in this case imho phil feels like he did what he could to make it right and the buyer still wasnt happy and was rude to him, so this seems to be something he is ready to do battle over, for whatever reasons, i suppose he feels like the buyer 'dissed' him.

i dont know, if it was me i would just blow it off, but i'm not phil.

in a perfect world everyone would be understanding and civil to each other regardless of the circumstances but we are a long way from being perfect and everyone has 'bad' days.

anyway point being ya have to pick your battles carefully and decide which one is just BS and which ones are worth fighting.

This whole thread strikes me as just a variant of the usual Sharp Phil spam. Though in this case, the whole premise of 'there's no such thing as bad publicity' may be proven wrong.

I cant see how anyone can read this entire thread and think the OP is the one who was "wronged".::thumbdn::rolleyes:

This is how the well adjusted people see it, and it's amazing that this has gone on as long as it has. Phil is still trying to justify why he told a customer of his to "ef off."

I read the thread thoroughly, and after so doing, I took the title of the thread, "Avoid," and added the OP's name, Sharp Phil, and the message became very clear to me.

P.S. FreshlyChopped, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with you, sir!

I have looked at this thread and read it in it's entirety since it started and I have to say this has got to be the most childish shit I have ever read in my life. I try to stay out of the fray and mind my business because I am here because of my love for knives.

As a complete bystander I don't see a problem with the way freshly chopped handled himself. If there had been more (attempt) dialogue on the sellers end this could have all been avoided. A simple email saying "hey I have some stuff going on and haven't gotten the knife out to you" or something of that nature.

I had a knife deal recently where I bought a knife new, it came and had a flaw, I asked the person to take it back, he agreed. I sent the knife straight back. I had purchased the knife with paypal. When it was time for a refund they wanted to send a money order instead of just pay me back like I had paid. Okay, strange but no problem, One week passes, two weeks passes. Long story short I had to send multiple emails to this person to get them to refund the money.

They had stuff going on and forgot. Okay, a bit irresponsible but I got my money after a month. The point I am making is this could have had its own thread too but it just wasn't worth it. He got his knife and I got my money.

Phil I see that you feel disrespected. I'm sure the buyer feels the same way too. They feel that they shouldn't have had to be the one to email you to see what had happened with the knife.

I don't know either one of you from Adam but it's sad to see a simple deal turn into a 6 page fiasco. My 2 cents and I'm out.

Well, there's your problem. You think this is some sort of contest.

Thanks for the psychoanalysis, Dr. Phil. The only problem in this thread is. . . . . . .YOU ! :D

. . . . .you're not involved.

Gee. . . . you start a thread in a public forum to "tell of your experiences" and I can't get involved. :(

Damn, that's right. . . . .I'm not agreeing with you. No playtime for The Gigster and Dr. Phil says so !

Again, based on the way you've handled yourself on BFC and this transaction. . . . .I wouldn't think of becoming "involved" you !

Good. Please don't.

That has already been addressed.

These very short replys appear to be your way of deflecting all of the negativity felt toward your handling of this transaction. At the same time you appear to be trying to garner as much attention as you can. Talk about irony. How about a well thought out and well articulated rebuttal of these members arguments? I think you are capable. Perhaps, just not in this particular situation. Maybe you can prove me wrong with one of your YouTube handpuppet videos. Of course, if you have any knives to ship I would suggest you handle that first. :thumbdn::thumbdn:

My very short replies are my way of saying I see no reason to keep repeating the same answers to the same accusations. Every single point raised has already been addressed, in some cases more than once.

What's the matter, did you decide that sending me insulting private messages wasn't accomplishing what you'd hoped it would?

I just read the entire thread.

What I took away from it was that I would not hesitate to do business with FreshlyChopped, and I will never do business with SharpPhil.

I'm fine with anyone who chooses to make that decision. I hope he shows you the same consideration he showed me.
