Awesome People Around Here...

91bravo 91bravo , did you do something to these scales? Appears to be a different color than stock micarta, and also feels better than stock micarta.

I rubbed a coat of Sno Seal on the handles. That blade was sanded with a fine sanding block after I sandblasted it. I was shooting for a semi-satin finish. Stonewashed finishes scratch if you look at them wrong. See @Pàdruig's ones he got from me!

Rub a thin coat of oil on that blade, it will look 10x better once you do!

Blade finish looks awesome indeed. So, you didn't sand the scales a bit before the sno seal?

What kind of oil do you recommend?

Any kind of oil will do. I use mineral oil, 3-n-1, wd40 sometimes too. I did sand the handles to fit the tang of the blade a little more precisely. It took a little work, but it should be flush all the way around! What do you think of the micarta as far as grip? I like them for their warmth and feel in the hand.

Oh, ok, I know I have some wd40.

I've only had one set of micarta, that came form the limited edition BK10. I didn't care for the feel of them. I preferred the stock grivory. These have changed my mind. Feels great in the hand. What a difference a little sanding, and sno seal does.

I do it to all of my micarta handles! You can even use motor oil too to rub your blade down too!
Makes the micarta feel like a whole new animal.

lol, accepting the decal is the least you could have done Warrior.
Congratulations dubz!
And that is something else mttm,91 and tanker!
Well, if I had known they were gonna send me a BK6 Patrol Machete, I would have! :D Thanks man.

I've heard of sno seal before, but I just looked it up, and pretty sure I need some of that stuff in my life.

For you guys that don't know, Creaky is a part of the big hand tribe, and knows I have big hands as well, and gifted me a custom BK11, with extended handles made of Yew wood. I love that blade, and it gets used all the time. It's a perfect combo, in my opinion. Comfortable handle, with a blade length that's not longer than it needs to be. I've thought about sending that one to Ethan to check out, but I don't think I'd ever get it back, haha. Thanks again brother.

The gift is in the giving my friend.

Sno-seal is my go to for leather sheaths after I wet form them. I rub on a thick layer and melt it in with a heat gun. It sucks right into the leather, and leaves it stiffer than before. This is one I did for my 16-
