Back by Popular Demand... What folder do you guys carry?

So I have been looking for a folder with an old school flair but made with high end, modern materials. Somethin for when I want a more gentlemanly not tactical looking blade. A while ago the Benchmade Big Summit Lake caught my eye. I have been looking at them since they came out a few years ago, but never bought one until last week. I did replace the standard benchmade arrow clip with a shorty from Southern Grind. It has an S30V blade, steel skeletonized liners and Dymondwood handle scales. Locks up like an abrams tank hatch. It sharp (not Guy sharp but close) and is very comfortable in hand. The blade reminds me a little of one of those Canadian bird and trout blades. Its pretty big too, which I like. 3.77 inch blade and over 8 inches open. If someone was looking for a folding bushcrafter, this could fit the bill for sure! The only thing I dont like is that its blade doesnt ride centered up when closed, which surprises me with a lockback and a benchmade!. Which bugs me but doesnt affect performance of the knife. When open the blade and spine are perfectly straight. I want to buy a second one to see if my example is a fluke. Overall I really like it. At $123.00. I think its worth it.

A guy could do a lot of work with that. It looks nice and thin for pocket carry, too.

ETA: Actually, it's got a really nice profile for field-dressing as well. I like it.

That's a nice looking "old school" knife. I love the clip. I wish my GPK had a clip.

Its funny... I am struggling to get used to two handed open and close! I do like it so far!

And HK you are correct... Its got a great general blade shape for cleaning small game. Its not as slim as you would think but because of its shape and the contouring it hides well in the pocket.

Good looking Benchmade Riz. I like that blade shape. I've been on a little BM kick too. Just picked up a Crooked River. Thinking it will be my country knife

I really wish the big summit lake had the blade shape of the crooked river. I was close to ordering one of those but I hate bolsters.

I put it down because of that but came back and picked it up. I'm glad I did it's really a nice nice.

Ive been carrying the Crooked River since picking it up and I like it for a larger knife. I'm on vacation and visited a large knife store in TN. Picked up a Foray and another Grip. I'm gonna carry the foray for a bit.

For the last month its been my Olamic Wayfarer:

And my Ferrum Forge SM-100 Stinger:

Evltcat -- that Stinger is a beaut! I'm not a collector, nor well-heeled enough to spring for something like that as a user, but if it's as nice in the hand as it is on the eyes then I would fear to handle it lest it inspire some serious blade lust.

Thank you sir!
She really is pretty amazing, and only weighs 3.5oz with a 3.3" blade.

Life's too short to not carry and use cool blades! ;) ---
