Back by Popular Demand... What folder do you guys carry?

I just added this Strider SNG to the rotation. Impressive is an understatement.

Nice. I seen before you've had some ZT's what was your thoughts on them?

They're great knives. I have an 0808 right now also and it's a well built flipper.
The ZT 0350 is still my favorite out of the lineup though because it's a big knife with a liner lock and it's spring assisted.

A CRKT M21-12. I find that it keeps a good edge for about 12 minutes, if I don't cut anything with it. Waiting on a custom friction folder and I can hardly wait to boot this thing to the curb. It's being banished to the shop, cutting sandpaper strips for the rest of it's days until it dies of silicosis or some other horrible ailment.

A 16 year old Benchmade AFCK with a D2 blade. Its my favorite folder. It gets rotated with a Bedlam Automatic model and a small model Benchmade 701 McHenry Williams.

Dammit you guys! I really don't want your penchant for super expensive folders to influence my already addictive personality! Why oh why I can't look away from this thread?! I keep telling myself that my Manix 2 (XL in satin) and digi camo PM-2 (DLC) are good enough and cool enough but for reason, I feel that I am just lying to myself

One other thing, seriously speaking though: in Cali an assisted opening folder is illegal plus there's a limit to the length of the blade which both my Spydies fail at. I like some of the ZTs and all Sebenzas, but the last thing I want is for my expensive folder to end up on a copper's service belt and for me to get a wobbly felony charge! Not worth it!

What size are your hands, preferably in numerical value, or if not glove size?

About 8.75" circumference. It's always been like a tweener size of M+ and L-. Real M is too tight and real L is a bit loose! Same with the darn feet and hence why I can't find well fitting hiking boots and have to always go 1/2 size bigger and use insoles!

Man that micarta looks sharp dyed. Anyways... Is this your first Strider, or have you had other higher end production folders?

Thanks bud. This is my second Strider so far. I had a tanto blade PT but it was way to small.
My next higher end folder will be a CRK. I'm a lefty but I think a large double lug large 21 will be the one.

The PM2 and Manix2 are no slouches at all. They're my favorites out of the Spyderco line.
Good thing about California is that you can play dumb if you get bugged about your knives. I'm up in Riverside and I carry my 3.5 or 4.1 every day and I've never been hassled.
I'm sure that the fact that I have re-keyed every cop car out here and do martial lockouts with the Sheriffs helps a lot!

Standard: As you may very well be aware (but this may come as a shock to most people who think that Cali is a communist republic) open carry of knives of any size is absolutely legal in CA!!! There are caveats though within certain cities such as LA & SF, but unless there are local prohibitions, one can open carry a friggin Samurai sword here in Cali

Thing is you have to make sure it is absolutly in open view and not tucked in and concealed and you better know your laws really well to recite chapter and verse because most cops don't know shiite regarding knives! But yeah, things like assisted folders, balisong and some other stuff like daggers are illegal. I think that the blade restriction on "utility knives" here are 3 & 1/2, but I've got to check.

P.S. I'm about 90 miles south of you in North San Diego ;)

I've had 2 Striders, both SnGs, 4 Hinderer XMs, and over 20 Sebenzas. Tell me what you really like about the Strider and perhaps I can help direct your aim. CRK does make lefties, if you are indeed a lefty and not ambidextrous.
