Back by Popular Demand... What folder do you guys carry?

Even if spyderco did a run of 1500, their customer base is so large, and flippers smell a quick buck, it would last shorter than survive's Monday sales.

Very true. I just hope I get the email quick enough to grab one. Finding someone that'll sell one for a fair price is few and far between these days.

Save your money Son!
Already on top of it! I wanted to get two, but I'll be a nice guy and save the rest for another knife. Those CRK's are still on my mind.

Prices have never been better, and I've never had so much trouble selling mine.

I think if you wanted to go in the $300 for a Spyderco no matter how limited of a run, fancy and schmancy; just lay in wait and ambush a well priced CRK. Will probably last you longer and you won't lose money on one of those older ones in like-new condition. Just MHO!

It's hard to believe that they're not selling as well as before because of the news that was dropped.

Yeah there's no way I'd spend $300 much less $200 on any Spydie considering I want to use it. I thought it'd be nice to have one in the safe as a backup, but there's no reason for me to hoard one away.
The PM2 is already one of my top 10 favorite folders, but now that it's available in M4 with Jade g10, it's really high up there now.
The CRK is just one of those that I'll want to baby for a long time and only carry on my days off. They're almost too pretty to use in my eyes plus I'm a bit scared to because of their worth.

I use one every single day. It's a work knife, not an art knife. I netted $318 for a new 25 and $380 for a new large Inkosi. That was this week.

I just fixed a flat spot on the blade of that highly polished 25 in the pics because I hit the concrete walkway while cutting landscape border in the backyard. Sebenza translates to work in Zulu after all.

Maybe I'll get a good used one when I get to that point. Maybe it'll help ease me into using one of them without using kid gloves.

Why do you think $300 for a sprint run Spyderco is an anticipated price on the secondary market?

I seldom sell as it is quite a trouble for me to ship the knife back to USA. The local market is very small to sell it locally.

I gave my 51200 Millie a patina today. This will affect its resale value definitely [emoji28] I love the new look and it is truly personalized now.

My Ren wax costed 51200 rusted even when I am not using it. Hence, I hope the patina can protect the blade better.

Thanks guys.

I was very nervous when I ordered it too but I have a weakness for CF and I always wanted a Millie. Sadly, it did rusted. I also bought with the intention to put patina on it as I know 51200 will take a patina.

Don,

How did it rust with ren wax on it?

Did the ren wax wear off?

You did a very good job. What did you use?

I was just going by some pricing structure which I had seen on eBay on similar situations, but admittedly the $290 + S&H prices I had seen were mostly on already closed out models.

It seems to me the sprint pm2s are usually about $175. But the aftermarket once they are sold out are generally $250-300

Justin, it surprised me too. The Ren wax was applied on last Sun and I did not carry the knife or use it after that. I simply left it on the table. I did play and flick it open a few times when I got home from work during the week. I first spotted the rust on the Spyderco logo on the blade on Thursday. I guess it is caused me toying with it. On closer examination, I also saw some rust on the spine of the blade. The rust were all surface rust and can be easily scrapped off with my finger nail. I believe it might be worst without the Ren wax.

I first applied a thin layer of mustard on the blade and dab more mustard onto the blade using bubble wrap to form the pattern. I left the mustard there for about 45min. This was how it looked like before I washed off the mustard.

Very good work Don.

Ive had trouble getting proper application of ren wax in the past when I first started using it but once I stopped applying it wrong my issues went away for the most part.

That being said I don't have the warmth and humidity you do climate wise. Unless this was rusting inside under climate control.

Is it possible you missed a small area or do you think the rust spread from oxidization already in place when you applied the ren wax? As in the surface needed more prep.

I ask because it's supposed to be the best product on the market used in museums but I have found its very important to have proper surface prep and application or it's a lot of time and effort wasted. I'd love to know if there are applications it just won't work!

It's possible that the rust might have got in before I applied the wax. I carried the Millie for 2 days with factory oil as I don't have the Ren wax with me. I did clean the blade with wet wipe and alcohol wipe before I put on the Ren wax. I never have any issue with Ren wax over the last 5 years.

That came out great looking donscpoo!

Some of the prices are just ridiculous on there. The PM2 in m390 seems to be the one that always breaks that $300 mark every time.

Bubble wrap, that's awesome, heck of an outcome!

Standard, I'll send pics of the delica after the weekend.
