Bad Blood Blowout =Stocking Stuffers !

The manufacturer must list their retail price waaaaaaaaaaay high, because I'm pretty sure that the only thing knife center has in common with Kohl's is the fact that they both sell stuff.

The MSRP seems to be in the $100-150 range for most Bad Blood knives, but the common street prices are around 80% off. I've had one, and they seem very similar to CRKT, a bit overpriced but not especially bad.

The "80% off" refers to the list price . Mostly I've seen these selling for ~$40 to 50 before they end up at ~20 . They weren't intended to sell that low and didn't for years . Unless they have QC issues , they seem worth about that $40 to 50 , at least .

These aren't in the Mora marketing niche . The whole idea of Bad Blood Knives was to offer factory value versions of named designer custom knives . Something a bit different and unusual . If you've never owned or even handled one , it's awesome that you can judge their quality from afar !

I'm being facetious as most people reporting about their experience with them is negative and the failure to understand MSRP vs Vendor Pricing is mind numbing. I wouldn't even say they are night and day because while they are both knives and cutting tools from what I am seeing they are both designed so drastically different and for such different markets they can't even really be compared. I do see a Mora as a good tool with a well earned reputation and priced in such a way to be easily affordable to most anyone. I have a tough time trying to figure just what a Bad Blood is designed for and as for their marketing it looks in line to market to gas station buyers and those who put their money into clones. So far what I am seeing of reports from those who claim to have owned on it a rather poor QC record.

Here's my next one . Great beast of a right hand chisel grind folder . Not many around like this design , let alone for $20 ! :)

Just picked up the Yokai, I'm not a huge fan of tanto but I'm going to try it for under $20. I don't own a chisel grind knife, another reason I had to get it.

Dam you DocJ, you made me buy a knife today, lol

I've carried and been around pocket knives for 30 years. I'm fairly knowledgeable about knife steel. I just know I wouldn't pay the regular price (not MSRP) of $40-60 for a knife with 8Cr14 steel. I also won't pay $200+ for 154CM on an Emerson. YMMV.

Is it worth $20? Yes. I can see why people would take a shot at the knives at $20.

Bold text by me...

The fact that someone here doesn't own a knife has never slowed down posting of opinions on a knife's actual field use, feel in the hand, slicing ability, heat treat, etc. Far from it. So many people here read so many posts that they can actually divine their opinion on how a knife performs by looking at a picture!

How did these super heavy built knives start being compared to Moras? What was the point of that?

Premise: These knives are on sale, and they are a pretty good value at $20.

Response: I have lost all respect for Knifecenter. I can't believe they would do something as underhanded as selling a knife like that in that way.

Response: I like Moras. This isn't a Mora, everyone should save for a Mora.

Response: These might be OK if all you want to do is abuse your knives...

Back on topic. I feel lousy now. I have a Bad Blood knife. It is a big, heavy built knife that I will probably give to my nephew. Right now it happily sits in the tool box and does things I don't want to do with my ZTs or Kershaws. I prefer my other work knives in my daily lineup in my pocket.

Worse, had nothing but great luck with Knifecenter. In fact.... that's where I bought the Bad Blood. Ouch!

Although I don't know what a Utilitac has to do with the sale at Knifecenter, I agree, it's a good knife. I have a tanto model that I use as a wood chisel when working on hinges and moldings. Works great.

Sorry, but these are priced how they should have been from the beginning. They are $20 knives.

Imagine how boring this place would be if we could only talk about knives we have used or owned. I used the Utilitac II as an example of a high value knife that is always priced in the range of these bad blood sale knives.

M midnight flyer I view any knife in the $20 range as a beater that can and will be abused now some knifes in that range are exceptions and for all I know a Bad Blood good be but I would be going in with the idea it would be. Right now the only exception I own is an Opinel and really only because such a thin blade I know it won't handle abuse. Put a $20 or less Schrade, Kershaw, or CRKT in my hands and set me to a task that requires more than a knife the knife might get used for more task than it was designed for.

Thanks! Once you have been around long enough you can pretty easily judge a low quality knife with poor cutting geometry and ergos on sight. In fact sometimes all you need to see is a ridiculously inflated MSRP to see that the "emperor has no clothes."

You will get the knack eventually! Just keep on using and reading!

To each his/hers/non-gender specific own but personally the knives linked to in the OP doesnt much appeal to me.

The Utilitac on the other hand doesnt look half bad and for the sub-$30 mark, Id rather spend a few more bucks for that ..., if I were in the market for a cheap folder ..., which Im not (since Spyderco got all my money).

Ive likewise bought several times from Knifecenter with no problems.
Im a happy camper/customer.

Must admit the Bad Blood knife company never registered on my radar before this thread.

Initial thought; name about as appealing as 'Kut Throat Knives' i.e. not very.

I did a search - this one stood out and not in a good way either albeit from a not very reputable site not located in the US.

The above is marked 'Bad Blood' (it might be a fake but why bother. Ive no way of knowing, so to be taken with a grain of salt).

I might not own a BB blade hence might not be 'allowed' to speak of the qualities or lack there of in regards to that brand of knives.

I did once own the knife pictured above but in 'COLT' marked guise (before donating it to a buddy, who wanted it).

That knife was a cheap and utter POS, if that is anything to go by.

As mentioned, BB blades are not knives, which jumps out and appeals to me in the design department.

BUT after looking at them, Ill admit that the Urban Mistress is not a shabby looking knife.
If one took a Dremel to the Wisper and removed both guard 'horns,' the design would be improved and it would'nt be a bad looking knife either IMO.

I see several people saying these have poor reviews and QC. The reviews I see are quite the opposite of that and so is my personal experience with them. Although, most users here can find faults with $500 folders regarding blade centering and grinds that are off, so I guess it all depends on what a person considers "acceptable" QC.

The Ontario Utilitac looks like an awesome value knife as well. I've got one on my wish list.

The Dreadnaught my friend bought was quite honestly atrocious, but that was a few years ago so perhaps they have improved quality.

Another collab they did a few years ago that is no longer talked about was the (David Mosier/Sean Kendrick) Burning Horizon; that one was pretty good.
