For someone who seems to be here almost exclusively to buy/sell knives, you would think Frankp would be putting in more of an effort to preserve his reputation. The way things are going, this appears to end one way: Frankp keeps his money, Meat gets the knife fixed by Jake, and Frankp gets banned and tarnishes his reputation here and on USN. Not sure how that appears to be the most appealing choice to him.

Simple, because I believe wholeheartedly that I am right! I have many defendants out on bond that are innocent yet get bullied by the prosecutor to take a plea bargain! These defendants fear the repercussions even though they are innocent. I am not in fear. I am 100% in the right and will not be bullied.

I can clean the damn thing up perfectly without taking it apart. A soft rag, some Q Tips and a can of compressed air will have it dry as a bone in short order. Oil isn't as hard to remove from an all metal knife as you're acting like it is.
May I borrow your can of compressed air? I do not have one.

Thanks Meat......Frank is banned from my dealings......hope he is banned from this forum!! A month plus ago Frank sold me a Tanic....no problems there as knife was exactly as described. However, his reasoning for selling was to buy a Blount from a buddy he had been badgering forever to let go. Literally within one day...or maybe even after the same day as received.....he turned and burned the Blount!! If I was his bud I'd be seriously miffed he had sold the knife he had pried from my hands.....'nough said!!

I am truly sorry for that brother. It is so far the one thing that saddens me!

Why don't you just send it to me and I will clean it and ship it back to you? (A can of computer cleaning compressed air will run you 5 bucks at Wal-Mart & you should have one anyway, to blow the dust out of your computer)

Unfortunately your metaphor doesn't quite work here, because there is no bullying going on here. Bladeforums isn't a U.S. court of law, it's a private forum where the rules are set and enforced by Spark and the moderators. If you do not abide by those rules, then there's repercussions. As long as you don't mind not being able to conduct business here anymore, than there's nothing to fear on your end. You're going to be able to keep your money, yes, but you're going to end up being persona non grata on BF. I hope that is a suitable exchange for you, because no matter how much you believe you're in the right, if the moderators (and by extension the community) don't believe so, then the end result will be the same.

Believe me Frank, it does me too....that is what is so sad. I just can't believe you'd torch your rep for the sake of the sale!! Wake up man......all the rest is secondary to you screwing up your listing....simple as that. If you'd just accept that we...and I mean ALL OF US.....would all accept you back into the fold!!

I am truly sorry for that brother. It is so far the one thing that saddens me!

If I get banned from a forum that believes one member over the other siding with the one that provides no proof then so be it! The knife had no problems. When I asked Meat to send me a vid of the problem he did not. I posted pictures so the members could see.

So sad that with no proof at all Meat has convinced most people here that I am deceitful. I provided the only proof that I did not get back a knife in the same condition as it was sent yet I am the bad guy. I guess I will soon find out if I am banned.

How do you disprove the negative?? He has clearly stated his position from the outset.....you have changed your tune like I change my pants. OK Frank.....you asked for everyone's opinion since you started this thread. The members and the mods have given their guidance and opinion......refund or ban. I'll give my vote.....BAN!! You're being pig-headed and stubborn!! You shipped the knife back.....you refuse to give a refund though you are clearly.....CLEARLY.....in the wrong.....and you choose to throw the opinion of the membership to the wolves.....deal with the consequences my brother!!

You should take into account how you've handled yourself here versus how MeatBacchus has.......
How you've handled yourself and this situation has had a direct bearing on this situation as well as your continued membership here.

Frankp has stated in this thread and MeatBacchus has confirmed to me that he has been notified by frank that USPS has picked up the knife and it is on it's way back to MeatBacchus.

So much for advise, so much for reputation. I had hoped that honesty and integrity meant something to frank and that he would do the right thing and return the money. It is a sad outcome when a member is so adamantly self righteous that he refuses to listen to reason.

I tried my best to answer everyone's questions. I did see that you asked him to send you our email correspondence so if you've read it you know I never misrepresented anything to him. Actually he was extremely excited UNTIL he bought a Kwaiback on the cheap. It all comes down to the word NEW. To me it was new to you and the other Moderators it was not. My opinion is if it was sold to me originally as new looks new and acts new.....then it is new.

Thought I already posted this.. If I didn't here goes...

Is funny how it now becomes your responsibility to clean the entire knife before sending it out again - you can use what I wrote below in the next post

The fact that it was oiled means a couple of things

One - who ever has it next will need to disassemble it to clean it - which in may cases will void the warranty
2 - the lock bar will stick like hell (which is probably the reason for the sharpie)

Three - he says "I oil all my knives" so he admits its his and that he chose to oil it as if it were his own - but then decides no I want to return it - mind u never mentioning that it has been oiled to heck

One would assume that PRIOR to oiling the crap out of the blade AS IF IT WAS YOURS you would be darn sure you meant to keep it.

Normally ANYTHING that changes a knife how it was originally received means u can't send it back and claim a refund. Especially a change that will now require a full disassembly and cleaning. I fail to see why something HE did to the knife now becomes YOUR responsibility to fix
You sir need to cut this crap RIGHT NOW. He already said he oiled it to prevent any rust issues while in transit to you. It is a FACT that his oiling the knife did zero damage and caused zero issues, and does NOT need to be disassembled to remove oil. Do you understand that? ZERO DAMAGE, ZERO ISSUES, ZERO DISASSEMBLY NEEDED! Your claim that "somebody in the industry said oil could be causing the issues with the knife" is likely a lie. You already admitted selling the knife only 30 minutes after receiving it, and you ONLY FLIPPED/ DEPLOYED THE DAMN KNIFE ONCE! That is not good enough to catch any issues that may have been wrong with the knife! You then started a public thread bashing the buyer, and questioning his integrity, where it became apparent you falsely advertised the knife as new when it wasn't. I do believe you mis advertised the knife in a non-intentional manner, but that is irrelevant at this point. Do the right thing and refund Meat his money man! I know it's not always easy to swallow your pride, and admit being wrong, but your reputation hangs in the balance!

Do people not read the entire thread before posting. I have answered this too!! Since yesterday through email I told MEAT I was going to send it back. He NEVER emailed me back with an alternative. He is a grown ass man! I am not going to follow the forums advice and send back without talking to the man himself!! I was waiting for his direction. There was NONE!!!

You are incorrect! AND PLEASE support the forum with a real membership!

This is EXACTLY the problem you have sir!

Frank………….

I think that you should bear in mind that this thread has already had 3000 views and that number will only rise. You have damaged your reputation and soon it will be beyond repair. It is obvious to me and others that you are essentially a dealer/flipper.

Your answers to questions have been deliberately evasive and incomplete and you have been economic with the truth.

You have chosen not to refund a knife because the buyer oiled it for protection during shipping. One the most ridiculous things I and many other well known collectors on this thread have ever heard.

I wish you good luck for the future. You will need it.
