It's simply the tenuous strand being using to try and hold onto the money rather than let the cash go and have to resell the knife. The oil did nothing but stop the knife rusting, as could easily have happened, he knows it, we know it and so does my dog. This whole debacle has descended into the ridiculous and beyond.

I have a question for op.
if oil bothers you so much are you even old enough to posses knives?
Kinda seems like an immature stance only a child would take to get there way.

When i got my Sirius from Dalibor Bergam it was also oiled, but never once did i think of blowing it up to this extent. And for the sharpie, my last four striders came with sharpie on the tang and no issue what so ever

I NEVER EVER ask a seller to pay using the "as gift"option. I do state NET to me. I expect the buyer to then pay Paypal fees. I would hope after that the buyer doesn't commit fraud.

Why am I not surprised by that ?.....The PP fees are your problem as the seller as is this knife you flipped and don't want back. Money really isn't this important, think about what you're doing to yourself here. Who is going to deal with you after this petty display ?....

Frank, do the right thing and swallow your pride. You are wrong and misrepresented the knife when you listed it. You may not have done so intentionally, but what you have posted in this thread and your steadfastness is only hurting you.

MEAT I will let you know as soon as Jake returns my email. In the end I hope you will have a Hoback working to your exact expectations. Again, I will pay all the expenses to Jake for the repairs.

This is some Lui Kang stuff right here, expecting the buyer to have to go through the knifemaker to fix problems that were not disclosed at the time of sale. The knife was not as stated in the sales thread, buyer wants a refund. Refund him, don't expect him to have to deal with your error if he does not want to. It is your responsibility.

This right here demonstrates a perfect lack of character, is that how you want to go out?
Remember the Internet isn't so anonymous anymore and displays like this can tarnish your name for good.

I would log off for a few hours, think it over, and make a decision with a level head.

Just my $.02

MEAT seems to be a very stand up and calm individual, just based off what is here. He's even offering to repurchase the folder once you have it fixed by the maker.

Refund him. Send the knife to get fixed, then you already have a buyer lined up once it's ready and there will be no mystery of what was done since leaving the makers hands. You could even have him ship it directly to MEAT once he's repaired it.

He'll still get the knife he wanted, you still get the money for it. It'll just take longer than the initial deal. However, it'll take a lot longer if you guys just keep shipping it back and forth with one another.

Shake proverbial hands, apologize to one another, and work it out.

I have tried to contact MEAT off the forum but without success. All the members I have dealt with over the years know that I am a very honest person and always bend over backwards to make them happy. I think the problem here is Meat and I are at am impasse. I believe I sent out a new knife in 100% working order. I think Meat himself stated that in a previous response. Meat did something silly by oiling a knife he was going to return for a refund without asking me first. Was this a case of buyers remorse AFTER he bought a Kwaiback for less money than the A8 right after I shipped the A8? Hmmmmmm! There is always more to a story than meets the eye. WHY should I now be forced to accept back a knife that is NOT in the same condition as I sent it in.

Why should Meat deal with you off-forum when you've trashed him repeatedly ON-forum....you started this slug-fest not him?? His story has been 100% consistent since first post....yours not so much. As I've stated in my recent PM to you.....the refund is your responsibility.......if the knife ships out today your name will be going on my ignore/do-not-do-business-with list; as I'm guessing will be the case with manyyyyyyy other members!!

This is the crux of it. You are saying you believe, which is to say that you truly don't know with full certainty. As mentioned previously, the knife should have.been fully inspected before selling it so you could say without doubt it's condtion was as you described.

After consulting with my fellow moderators, we are all on the same page.

Frankp should issue a REFUND.....period.

It is your reputation at stake here now Frank. You need to do the right thing and refund the money as you promised in the first place, no more accusations, no more games. The knife is your problem to repair.

I am truly sorry for that! I have tried to contact MEAT but I haven't heard back. The only responses since yesterday have been from this thread. I don't think MEAT is a BAD person. I won't go into more details publicly. I think he knows as I do what took place between us. I just hope the end result will be satisfactory to him.

Meat has not once talked smack and yet you continue to throw him under the bus. Just off that I wouldn't touch a sales thread of yours with a mile long pole. It's clear to see who's dragging this out and refusing to hash out something reasonable before it escalates. Money comes and goes, but reputations are hard to maintain. Hope those $$ are worth it.

Thank you Karda for all your input. If I could go back in time I would have never started this thread. It was under the advice of a fellow member. I think this should have been kept a private matter between Meat and I.

Well, gentlemen, I see I am being forced to accept this knife back.

I did buy a couple kwaibacks right after your A8. I was going to sell the A8, as I was listing it on the USN - However, I immediately noticed the issue and knew I couldn't sell it with that issue. Again, you are implying I am in some way using you and that I'm being dishonest.

You're way off base, and have been this entire time. No, I'm not responding to your emails / PMs - you're only doing this, as you know you're wrong and want to save face. Right at the beginning of all of this I informed you of my cell phone and that I was an honest, full time LE ofc. You laughed this off saying you bond out many cops / lawyers / doctors etc. Really went to my core, but I've tried to keep my cool this entire exchange.

I guess I hope you get banned from here from the total lack of professionalism you have displayed. I will not be accepting any money from you for refunds etc from Jake, implying I returned this to you with a new issue, it's just not true. I have no idea if you knew of the issue, no idea if you knew of the sharpie, but all the while, never pointed a finger at you. Never called you any names. While you sent me numerous emails saying you can't send this back to Jake, as I, "fucked with it." When all I did was oil a knife, just like Jake does when he sprays them down before sending them out to prevent rust.

Totally unprofessional, rude, and arrogant.

I'm done with Frank....good luck in this Meat.

You knew full well the knife was not "new" and it seems you had no idea whether it was in 100% working order or not. You did indeed sell it as such though......turned out your representation of the knife for sale wasn't quite accurate and things pretty much stop there.
The knife is only oiled, it isn't sharpened, buffed, dropped, tinkered with, changed in any way or been re-entered from orbit, it is the same knife in the same physical condition. This deflective nonsense is taking you nowhere good and you have gone from one lame excuse to keep the cash to another. Given Karda's posts earlier in this thread you should think about your continued future on this forum. The right thing to do is just reverse the deal and stop with this silly game playing.

"New from the maker" implies just that, and that does not seem to be the case.... Nuff said.

For the record....

If a refund is not issued to MeatyBacchus, I will be pushing hard for frankp's removal from this site.
