I'm just a guy with a YouTube channel who lives Bark River Knives, and am a friend of both Derrick and Mike. A subscriber of mine alerted me to this thread this morning, so I reached out to to Derrick, who reached out to Mike. I'm not officially or financially affiliated with KSF or BRK in any way, shape, manner or form. I was merely trying to help two of my friends clear up a misunderstanding, satisfy a customer with a real problem, and then (probably not smart in my part) to help calm some needless controversy in BF. Looks like part of my good will helped. Can't win 'em all [emoji6][emoji53]

The OP had no misunderstanding. He got screwed. Until Derrick came in and started handling things the proper way he was still getting screwed.

I'm sorry, so why are you posting again? You thought you'd come get involved and stick up for a company against a person with a proven real issue? And interestingly, you got involved on the side of the party who screwed up. Sending out knives incorrectly labeled isn't a minor mistake. The OP is almost certainly not the only person who has been defrauded by this. After all, that's what it is, isn't it? When a company tells you it's one thing, and you get another?

I don't blame KSF, by the way. Derrick is a stand-up guy, 100%. But Mike Stewart? Ha, NO, sorry.

I agree! It'd be a shame if more people bought Wicked Edges, spent five minutes with the manual, and stopped giving you business for your attempt at butting into a situation that has nothing to do with you on the side of the company frauding a customer.

I am happy with the BRKT products I have but...... and this is a big BUT, this thread shows off the real chances that ordering more than typical A2 from them is a risk. I enjoy their designs but appreciate the OP even more as I will no longer make questionable purchases from this company.

I still love their designs but more than a few times now, BRKT has made some real lousy choices and mistakes.

OP was given the brush-off by both KSF and BRK and joined this forum to seek advice.

It's only because of the forum that the owners have been made aware. I have to wonder if the OP would have received the same eventual outcome if he had not joined the forum.

Derrick at ksf was not aware of this thread until today, at which time he took care of the situation. This is an important point to recognize.

As for this thread, I've only read the first, and last pages...so I have a little reading left to do. Regardless, I think it was a nice gesture for you to come on here and attempt to help in this matter. :thumbup:

As you can well see, it's become nearly impossible to have a civil discussion here on BF's, without being ridiculed and insulted. It's quite pathetic, actually!

More political b.s. great. I think your pg membership allows you to go to the only place where this sort of stuff is allowed. Maybe go there if you want to talk about such off topic things. Speaking of off topic, do you have anything of value to add to this discussion? Perhaps share your thoughts on the particulars here.

Dude, I really wish you'd stop with the constant whining about trolls and insults. You've more or less become the exact same thing at this point. Pathetic is right.

Seems like the OP is a stand up guy and only came here after BRK blew him off.
I have never dealt with KSF - but I can say I am totally impressed with how they have handled this - esp since the manufacturer is the one who created the problem ..............great stuff.

I have seen quite a few situations here where no one is allowed to question or offer any idea different than what the herd is running with. That is Sad. But I knew that prior to joining. Whether some of you realize it or not - this site does have a rep out there for piling onto members who are not following the herd like lemmings. Bernie's knife identification was horrible like that when he was here - whatever he said, everyone just jumped on and beat the other party down. He was a tool about it too and was just plain mean at times. I don't think I have ever expressed this openly over the years; but yes a little more tolerance of fellow members take on things would be nice. Anyway, I hope some of our family here think about that. I enjoy this site and most of the people here. I have a pretty thick skin so I really don't give a crap; however other people do. I would hate to think of members talking to other knife nuts about how they were treated poorly here. Yes, sometimes it is deserved - we all know that - but sometimes it is not. Anyway - back to work for me.
 
Glad to see KSF is both going to take care of the OP AND go through their stock. I also find it funny that us "Blade engineers" or whatever somebody called folks who said they were confident is was A2 are thinking now after guy who runs KSF comes in here and basically says "yup this shows me that blade is definitely A2". Either way I look forward to hearing how KSF resolves the issue for you FM.

I would also hope KSF at least gives us some kind of idea about what they find in their stock. If this was a one of, a batch...etc. Something that lets us know, "Hey if you've got one from this batch you may need to look into it." Either way adding KSF to my links of places to buy knives for now. Seem like standup folks.

Also LOL at the rush of people who are "friends" with Mike who came rushing in here out of nowhere to start defending something that is obviously a problem. Nobody other then BRK knows how deep this runs, and they may not even know yet. If KSF does some testing and finds every single 20CV they have is A2, then there is something to get our panties in a wad about. If they do some testing though and find it was a batch or two, I would think many here are more then willing to step up and say it looks like it was an honest mistake. Bad reputation or not, mistakes do happen and I think most folks here would be willing to recognize that. Right now we're just playing the waiting game.
