Here are my only two Case Barlows, although I suspect that will change eventually. I also just wanted to bump this wonderful thread. I wish Case would make more 62009 1/2s. The pickings seem to be fairly slim these days.

Also, can someone point me to a USA made Barlow on the cheap? I am willing to pay more than twelve and a half cents but not much more; I like the idea of a cheap, no frills knife but I can't bring myself to buy an import from China or Pakistan. I'd prefer a single blade with a brown handle (bone would be great but I would take delrin) and NOT stainless steel blades; and ideally, it'd have "Barlow" on the bolster.

That's going to be a pretty tall order. Probably Bear and Sons will have the least expensive USA made knives and I think they have a Barlow pattern or two. There are lots of Barlows on ebay if you're up for the search and the bidding.

Mighty nice one-arm there, Corey!

Thank you. That's my first one-arm, and I really think they are cool. They are the original Spyderco, what with the ability to open on the edge of a table or top of your pants pocket. It's addictive trying to find different ways to open it up.

This DB pattern is absolutely a beauty to be sure MW! That is an early 1971 production from the looks of the bone. That is the same bone that was being used in the 1960's and is one of my very favorite Case bone color dye productions.

Here's my Utica Barlow that I got last June. I'd not had a Barlow in my hand for decades.
Springs are a bit weak, but all in all, not a bad knife for the price.

Some updated images of my Don Morrow "Barlow" (3.5" closed) in amber stag bone and CPM-154.

Elliott, that is really nice Barlow. I am not that big fan of clip blades on Barlow (I am heathen that likes spear points on my Barlows) but that is really, really nice main blade. Engraving and scales are stunning... You wouldn't need a kidney Elliott by any chance? I got two of them I could change one for that Barlow :D

Another of my Case XX 62009½ Red Rough Cut Bone Barlows. I bought this one second hand and although it appears rough (it is actually) it is tight and has wonderful snap. Whoever the previous owner was, he kept it sharp!

There appears to be a crack running the lenght of the scale but it is in fact a faint bone marrow crevice.

Here is the back side of this knife with a very prominent bone marrow crevice.

I like the fact that Case used what to some may be considered flawed scales. I think they add character to the knife and an interesting twist to these knives.

Thanks for the kind words, Jani. I like both spear and clip blades on barlows and I think both work nicely. My old (1890's) Russell "Daddy" Barlow has a spear, my newer (1930's) Russell single blade Barlow has a clip blade.

As for the kidney...thanks for the offer but I'd sooner just send you the knife someday down the road. Give me a few years to get tired of it. ;)
