Barlow Showtime come one, come all!

Great stuff guys. The old and the new! It's like visiting a knife museum in this forum with displays that range in age and levels of sophistication.

Here's a brace of Barlows. Appaloosas for appreciators, Amos et al!!:D

The Russel Barlow. King of the hill no doubt. The catalyst of pocket knife collecting.

:D Yup, I certainly appreciate those Appys!

It just so happened Waynorth gave a me a very good trade on that sweet Appaloosa jack he had posted on the swap thread and I've fallen in love with it. It's just a beautiful knife. LOL, so I do appreciate those barlows, but I''m still claiming that jack is one of the purdiest Appys I've seen.

Klassy old Russell, there. And KO, how can anyone not love fine, stag scales. I sure love em.

Thought I'd put some of the big guys in here, to keep it rolling;

Top, a camillus made reproduction of the famous Russell.
Next, an old 10 dot Redbone Case.
Last, a 1979 (1 dot) stag special edition.

As I promised, here's a picture of that slim Robeson, with a Case for comparison. I've posted this in a different thread before, I think, but it goes with this one too.
Like PhilL's Hen and Rooster, those slim (I think of them as "bullet end") barlows make a nice EDC, for light use. If you are working harder, then maybe a heavier one is the ticket!
Barlows just reek of tradition! I always feel so American when I'm carrying a barlow ;) ! Even though I'm living in Canada right now! (Married a nice Canadian gal!)

Greg and Charlie to and froing!
Another nice Cargill, Greg!
Here are a couple of odd ones, a circa 1910 Delmar, and a relatively unknown custom. The custom is a serviceable knife (being kind), but nothing special.

Rare 3-blade Barlow; nice pearl, Greg!
Here are some of those slim Robesons, and at bottom, a modern repro from SMKW, via Queen Cut. Co.

The beauts just keep coming.

Greg, that pearl 3-blader is sweet. That stag isn't hard on the eyes either.

Charlie, those bullet heads are something else too. They look like they would ride in a pocket much better than the standard barlow.

KO and others, I admire your nice photography, and artistic backgrounds. They make you want to print them out and pin them up  ! Here are some Russells, on a plain brown wrapper :o :p !

This fellow pales in comparison to most of the others here. But, I bet there were a gazillion of these sold in their time. A Diamond Stone...for a Diamond Edge.

Hey, Waynorth, I have a question about that KA-BAR-LO on the right of the photo. I have one, and I assume that it was one of the KA-Bar collector editions. Do you know what year it was produced? Or was it produced numerous years?

I'm not sure, Gary. I just liked it, and bought it, but I don't know much about that particular brand.
Anyone else???

There are some great Barlows here. As much as I like that pattern, I don't own a single barlow. Saw a Ruple Barlow on one of the dealer sites and I kick myself for not grabbing it when I could.

Well, thanks anyway, Waynorth. If anybody else knows the origins of these stag KA-BAR-LO knives, please speak up.
