Barlow Showtime come one, come all!

I go to the bi-annual Queen show in Titusville every other year, Rivit, and so far this is the only one I've seen. It was quite a bidding war on Ebay that got it to me, and I recognized 2 long time Queen collectors against me. I guess the answer is, I don't know. You could try the Queen collectors club.

That is pretty much what I was afraid of. Thanks for the quick reply. There is a great vintage Queen dealer at the Wolverine Club show (next weekend) so I will have to just hope for the best.

Print it off and bring him a picture! Who is he, BTW? Maybe I've met him in Titusville.

Waynorth - it is the man in Grand Rapids as you have guessed.

I honestly can't remember the dealers name. I will let you know after the show. My buddy Scott is a Queen collector and recalls seeing an old Shatt & Morgan in this pattern. I will see what else I can find.

Nice one TLC. Case has always made some nice ones.
A Barlow is the quintessential work knife, inexpensive for someone who works it, and themselves, hard!
I love them for their simplicity, and variety. Bolster stamps, a great marketing detail, make them display nicely too! My soft spot for these guys has cost me over the years, but not as much as you might think. Diligence will get you a great collection at reasonable money! Here are a bunch;

I love the New Holland one. Being from New Holland PA, that kind of figures. Do you know if that was a promo item for Sperry New Holland?

Leo

I think they were often used as promotion for farm equipment. Heard that somewhere. Is that what Sperry New Holland makes?

Just can't seem to resist an interesting Barlow. When you see me on the street corner, flip a quarter in my hat, will ya??
The first pic shows a "KNOX ALL" produced by A.W.Wadsworth&Son in Germany likely pre-WWI for Simmons Hdwre. (Merrimac Cutlery produced them, again in Germany, after WWI until 1939).
Above the KNOX ALL is an Imperial, with a big old sheepfoot blade, unused.

Next, some Barlows from Ellenville; an Ulster 10OT I just acquired from a friend in Kentucky, and an (Ebay) Russell commemorative from 1975 by Schrade. Recognize the handles?

Shucks, Charlie, you won't have a hat to catch it in. You will have traded your hat for knife I'm sure! ;)

I like the scales on that Knox All. Interesting to see saw cut wood instead of saw cut Delrin.

Actually that's saw cut bone, Amos. The Knox All and Old Timer are bone, the other two are plastic.
Do you have a hat I can borrow??

Bone, eh? Wow. Even cooler. Yep, I might have a hat or two around here. ;) Whattyagottatrade? LOL

I may need one myself as these things keep piling up. I know my collection has doubled, and probably tripled since hanging around in here with all these questionable influences.

Btw, I figured out what is waiting at the post office for me to pick up. It's that Queen red bone trapper. What a rotten time for a holiday at the P.O.. Right after work tomorrow I'm making a beeline for the Post Office, then home to pay on new purchases, and post feedback on newly received. Did I mention you all were a bad influence?

HMMM that's funny I just got finished telling my lovely bride how innocent I was until I found you guys and how I am pressured into purchasing more knives now...Bad influence I tell ya...

Sunburst, a few more knives never hurt anybody! And they will be there to keep you company!!!!!!! on the couch:D :D :D :D

I was going to post some Barlow pictures from this thread in the new "Barlows" thread, but I thought I'd wake this thread up instead, and see if that worked for everyone!

Here are a few of mine. I have a couple more boxes to unpack, so I probably have more. Top one is an old Russell (1880's or so), Next two are Camillus, Then a schrade, Germania Cutworks, and another Russell at the bottom. That Gardner is my favorite ine in this thread so far Waynorth, very much my style.

Hey Rivit,
Superlative little collection! And you say you have more to unpack, wow:eek: ! I luv the one with the little raccoon scrim and the fancy embellished bolsters. Who made that one?? OH, My daughter is sitting here with her dad and says she loves it too:D :D.

Yes Rivit, did you get those knives unpacked yet?? It's been a while!!
