I think I need another Parangatang or two. I heard they're going away with the 5 and 15.

wtf?

that's a choppy thing too, just convexed one, beat the new off it all summer. should get more then.

Mmmm luv me some Parangatang.

Was using mine two weeks ago when I had some company over for a little fire in the back yard. Was splitting foot long 4 inch thick (dryed) branches with one chop :D Make you feel like Superman.

congrats to biscuit & c-bear for their luck in the knife rights drawings.

Make a surprise visit to BeckerWest!
I'll personally fix that for ya!
With passenger bread for all!!(Hopefully....probably...more than likely...)
So many exclamation marks!

BeckerWest is truly a place one can get drunk just by being in the same map grid, take a grunt 50 yards away from all the action, and howl at the moon in the daytime. Love it. Wish I could be there with you all.

Son turns 7 on Sunday. Wanted to get him a decent BB or pellet gun... Wife would not agree... So I could only do the plastic air soft guns... Got him a pistol and rifle.

I agreed to wait and see how he handles the air soft.... But I'm thinking Christmas morning the wife is going to be in for an unwelcomed "by her" surprise lol.

Got a fence finished, for the most part, around my shop. 6 foot privacy fence around about 40'x40'... Like a private yard for my man cave lol....

Top is all level and even, looks great.... But the bottom has some gaps since the ground is on a slight hill.... Going to have to get some 1x4s or something and fix that so Neko can come chill with me, off lead.

.... Parangatang... Good cutter for sure... Handle didn't work for me though.

...Hoss.... If you'd like, I could send you the 3V chopper that Crimson made for me, let you take it for a spin. I think you'd enjoy it. It's one hell of a cutter. You'd just have to promise to send it back when your done... Even if you loves it much :D

Edge could use some touching up... But it keeps performing great.

Those airsoft guns runs the gambit from toy to still-a-toy-but-not-for-kids. I bought a replica Glock 17 for $125 to practice with and it's not even top of the line. Decently close proximity, though the trigger doesn't feel the same.

After using the Parangatang I still don't like the handle, but it didn't bother me or get in the way or anything. The peak is coming off but I could probably live with it if I had to.

That is very tempting. But I get nervous with other people's stuff. Especially with the quality service we get from USPS but the private sector guys aren't much better.

No worries man! I'm the same way. I had a guy send me a busse tglb to try out, told me to beat on it... Looked new when I got it, i put it through one piece of wood, about 2"thick, and couldn't bring myself to use it again after seeing the scratches I put on it from just that... Of course the guy didn't care at all... But I did.

I have used quite a few of my Aussie buddies Busse knives.... But only when asked to compare them, and I had them here anyways for proxy shipping...

I think more people should try out some of Crimsons' work though for real. The chopper he made me is a beast.

I never played with any air soft guns... I'm sure my son will enjoy them... But something about getting him his first bb gun seemed more fun.... For dad anyway lol

Even some of the cheaper ones can shoot pretty hard. Safety glasses would be a good idea. At the very least it would make the wife feel better.

ohboy ohboy: touched-up RBK chops good!

Airsoft hurts fo real...
Started my daughter off with the daisy lever action. Single shot and you can almost watch the Bb from the barrel to target. She was 6.
If anything I almost think airsoft appears too harmless and could give a false disrespect for firearms in kids that just get cut loose.

Either way, you'll teach them right. When she gets sick of airsoft pellets everywhere. She will welcome bbs lol.

I'll second the "false disrespect for firearms" notion. When we first got airsoft pistols around here, my son was talking about shooting other people with them kind of like paintball. So, before I released them from my hands I shot my own shoe and then foot to see just how hard it hit. Some do hit harder than others (pay attention to the fps rating), but they all stung enough on a bare foot that I made the son who was getting them shoot his own shoe and then asked him if he would be willing to shoot his own foot - just so he would know. We don't shoot other folks with them.

Good idea... I'll get two pairs for both kids.

I agree about the air soft.... With metal bbs or pellets, it would be treated as a regular rifle. Only used in proper places with adult supervision and safety as number one... I wanted to start teaching my son real firearm handling and safety... With the plastic ones they are treated as toys and I don't think kids, or adults, respect them the same. I don't. I'll shoot myself with it before I give it to my son just to see what it's about... I'd never do that with a bb or pellet rifle.

Good advice.
I have a bb sitting under my right eye to this very day.
My little brother hit me from about 50 ft. away. 1 in a million shot, really.
It's sitting in the orbit. Dr.'s said they would likely do more harm removing it than just leaving it in.
Luckily I've never had an issue with it.

That was the end of our bb gun wars....stupid kids.

One in a million shot, Doc!

ONE IN A MILLION!

Lol I have a spring loaded plastic air-soft rifle. When I was moving out of my parents place and in with the wife, she was like 'wtf is this toy gun'. I explained to her how the impact feels like a paintball or worse as this one had a really tight spring (rated for 390fps). As we were walking up the driveway taking the last box of my stuff into her place she shot me in the back :grumpy:. Hit me in the shoulder blade lol. It left a good sized welt, and when I took my shirt of after it was like I got hit with a paintball point blank lol.
