I have a BB inside my left hand to this day. Don't ask, it's a long story.

What makes you think so?

Because Guyon's Salty Nuts, that's why.

Seems all you can get nowdays is tramedol. Just an overblown aleve IMO. No real out of misery relief with that...seems like they're only good for making you feel like crap when you're not taking them because your body has some kind of dependence after a while.

That's why God invented whiskey.

If a person really needs serious pain-relief, I'm sure they could find it in the bad part of town... it's called "heroin". I'm told it works really good in the short term. But soon they'll have all sorts of other truly terrible problems... :(

Don't shoot perpendicular to any hard surface. The BB will come straight back at you. It's like playing pool, it will bounce off and leave at the same angle as it hit.

Got my bk6 in today. Definitely not heat treated.

I are confuzzled. Why would someone put handles on a non-HT'ed blade? How did it get out of the factory without HT or grinding, yet apparently get coated?

In any case, what I would do (not that anyone asked :D) is strip off the coating, grind it the way you want and send it to Peters' HT. They'll know exactly what to do with 1095CV/Carbon V/O156-c/whatever you wanna call it. Tell 'em to temper it back to 58Rc.

Long day of getting stuff ready for winter around my place. Cleaned out the shed and threw some stuff away that I had been keeping for no real reason. Had a few shingles that blew off in a storm that I figured I had better fix. Ended up being a waaaaaau bigger job than expected, but I got it done. A few more small things and I'm ready for the snow to fly.

This is I-35 two miles north of my house. Traffic closed both directions... Some civil engineer from the TXDOT needs to be fired.

The TV station reported 10 feet of water over the highway...this is an Interstate Highway for goodness sake!! You can just see the roof a car appearing as the water has started receding. Could have used some of this rain late July or August when the hay was still trying to grow...now there's not enough sunlight left to help.

There's a place in Springfield on Cook Street that looks like that almost every time there's a heavy rain.

Thought that was some kinda snapping turtle in a river not a highway ;)

In other news today was last day of a job of one year and I start a new one next week-ish

Fixing this is supposed to be one of the fixes planned for the construction on 35 through Troy. There're drains at the bottom of the underpass, but they are too small for toad chokers like what came through, especially if there is ANY road debris to cause blockage.

I saw on the 5 pm Austin news that both N and S IH35 were also closed in San Marcos at the Blanco River due to water over the bridges there. Apparently, this flood is worse than the one they had back in May on Memorial Day. In Blanco, the river crested at 43 feet in May and this one was expected to reach 45 feet.

Congrats on getting a new job so fast.

Those VZ scales look nice. And TKC look really nice. Would like to upgrade the scales on my 21 but I don't know what I want. Might have to go find the handle modification thread.

went to a coupleof the discount stores around me today, picked up a nice set of ball-hex wrenches and a pair of dickies learher work gloves pretty cheap

I get that they are going to fix it when they finish the new road project, but it should never have dipped that far below grade in the first place. I'm an Elec Eng and even I know that much. A retired friend who was a Mech Eng said that all Civil Engineers need to know for their jobs is that schtufff flows downhill. Apparently the designer skipped class that day.

Yowie! That is a lot of water. My wife has a FaceBook friend down near there that had 15 or so beehives flooded but they were able to save a couple of them before they were covered in water.

Congrats on getting a new job so fast.

Yes, congrats to Bladite. Now perhaps he can start multi-posting from a computer instead of single posts from his phone... :D

Haha I put the scales on it just to see how it felt.

It's not coated. It's just oxidized steel. It's an old cam black that was never ground. I have a bk9 blank from cam that I ground down with the help of Vic at Becker east years ago. I have talked to an amazing knife maker and he said that he'd help out with the grinding, I don't know if he wants me to mention his name. JD at The 710 recommended an ht place. Said that it's the place where he sends his blades for ht. I'm hoping for an amazing blade when it's all done. I will check out Peters ht.

Dang GSO, that's a lot of water. Y'all be safe up there.

I saw a video of a guy filming from his car as his car got swept away and went floating down a flooded creek. Amazingly they said he came through just fine.

Morning folks. I actually slept like one of you daywalkers last night. 1 a.m. to 5a.m. , work was called off at last minute.
