Becker Fall Gathering 2013 - Roll Call Thread !!!

Y'all have fun. Unfortunately I've already got some commitments that weekend and won't be able to make it.

It's only a prop. Look, I can do the same thing without the chicken.

I know people are just wanting to hang out and drink beer etc. I'm all for that. It would be fun to see if people had neat skills to demonstrate etc. I for one would like to hear about Terrio's knives not to make.

Heck man I say bring whatever you want to teach, demonstrate, show, whatever, and it will happen. I too would like to see this, and honestly anything else anyone wants to show off. I can eat and drink while they do it just fine. ;)

I have plenty horrible examples and bad ideas to show off :p I do like the informal approach, and I'm sure everyone has something to tell lies about teach/explain.

In other news, Ang and her Mom were busy yesterday afternoon/evening...

10 quarts of Veggie Soup stock, 4 quarts of salsa, 7 quarts of vegetable juice, 6 quarts and 20 pints of bread n butter pickles and 36 pickled eggs. Yum! If you guys see anything you like, just let me know. Miss Angie says I can bring some along to share as long as I bring the jars back home :D

Personally I'm thinkin' some of the homemade V8 juice and a bottle of vodka for Bloody Mary's, for certain... and her pickled eggs are pretty tasty, too... and I made some green chile relish I want y'all's opinion on...

ETA last time, Moose asked me about what I thought of Elmax... it seems like not too many people have had a chance to play with it yet. I'll bring at least one finished THK in Elmax for you folks to beat the crap out of.

Uh, yeah, juice, salsa, eggs, pickles, those are my picks at least!

Hell bring it all, we'll eat it, drink it, or give it to Murph* and see what he does with it!

*Also known as "Muffy" in more recent days

Dude our kitchens look identical right now. I've been canning for about a month. Apples just came ready - apple butter. Tomatoes have been going for a while, as have hot peppers. Okra is around as well. I'm about to go can a few quarts of tomato sauce.

Sending up the bush sword for y'all to play with. Guyon should be getting it tomorrow.

Nice! I remember you showing that, it looks like a lot of fun

Oooooh apple butter! I'm totally open to trading whatever we got for some homemade apple butter, bro. Angie and I both LOVE it. It's good on toast, oatmeal, biscuits, or just on a spoon :p

We've got plenty okra too... Ang usually just seasons it a bit and pops it in the oven as a side veggie. Not sure how to can/preserve it.

Sadly I will not be able to join this year, I will be travelling for work the last week of September and the first week of October.
