Becker Fall Gathering 2013 - Roll Call Thread !!!

I am bringing my Dutch oven and should be able to procure some farm raised sausage. I'll also bring some pipes and a few tobacco blends from Just for Him. Surely there will be a pipe smoker or two in attendance.

If anyone would be interested, I might be able to gather up a few plants for some tips on identification. Not sure what exactly I will be able to find and transport. Perhaps a few examples of poisonous plants.

Really looking forward to the gathering. I hope to be there before dark on Thursday.

Good call on the pipe tobacco. I always bring a pipe and some tobacco on a road trip. Do you like fuller blends? I have some Samuel Gawith Bracken Flake this is delicious but the nicotine content is just too high for me.

If there is any interest, I have two unused Big Agnes Tensleep Station 4 Footprints - about 8' x 8'. Would make very useable tarps.

I do like the fuller blends. However, I usually don't like too strong of a nicotine punch, but I'd sure give it a try.

Much like electrical outlets, beer and edged tools/weapons, there is simply no such thing as "too many tarps". Bring 'em.

There may be even more THK homemade canned goods than I originally planned... our garden continues to produce. It depends mainly on the transportation situation... Miss Angie says I can bring along basically as much as I can carry, as long as I bring back the jars/lids/rings. No one is gonna starve to death, I'm pretty sure of that :)

What kind of snake?

Some are good to eat, others taste like ass. Best left alone.

Rattlesnake, is real damn good. Cottonmouth taste like gym socks that were used to wipe out a dirty ashtray at a pool hall.

Others I've had, tend to go like this, if they are venomous and pretty, they taste good. If they are venomous and ugly, then they are gonna be nasty.

Non venomous snakes, are usually pretty bland, as they don't eat much meat, mostly bugs and insects. Edible, but throw the garlic pepper to 'em.

I am gonna have to trust the Moose on cottonmouth tastiness....... A word to the wise though, snake goes bad fast, real fast....... On a hot day you better have it cooked yesterday...... When snake goes bad the smell will screw with your appetite for all food for a while ........Yetch, bad memories....Yetch.....

Just checked the weather(again) and if the guessers are guessing right we will get a little precip we'd to lower the fire danger and then give us perfect weather till Sunday night........YAAAAAAY...!!!!!!!!.....

Went down and scored some Benton's Bacon for the Saturday night batch of Macleid's Rockcastle Chili......

Things proceed a'pace........

Better make sure we got plenty of firewood. Some of us will be up all night playing around while others sleep. And I like a big ass fire too.

I won't be at the gathering but I was planning on making chili this weekend anyway... If you got the time boss I'd love to get the recipe from you for the rockcastle chili. I am taking care of papa this weekend and figured it would be a nice treat.
