Just to my eyes, and when compared to the regular G2, the G2 LED is not that much brighter as I'd imagined.
The G2 actually seems to compete with pretty well with the G2 LED in the couple of beam shots I've tried indoors and outdoors.
They're both good overall though. The LED, as expected, has a whiter beam.

The G2x Pro, however, kicks some serious butt. I think you're going to like your 6Px Pro.

I've got a Malkoff M61 drop-in in a Surefire 6P.
I may swap it out with the G2 LED assembly. Then that olive drab LED will get kicked up a few notches.
The G2 I bought to burn the standard Surefire P60 bulb assemblies. I've put Malkoffs in a number of lights, and of course, out come the P60's. So I bought a light in which I'll just burn those halogen bulbs. I've got enough bulb assemblies stashed back to last me years.
The G2x Pro, I bought to put in a hunting pack, but it's too nice for that. I'm just going to have to find something else to be a dedicated light for that pack. I like to have dedicated packs/kits so I can grab and go. So something else will go in the hunting pack, and I'll try to remember the G2x each season.

I don't know how I didn't see this before. So what are we talking about?

Excellent thanks Guyon, I will be throwing mine in my Falcon II, I been waiting to see a few pics or yours in O.D. green.
Do you have any add on to your pack (Molle)...
can't wait to blind a few people....

Flashlights

Guyon, I also picked up a G2X-Pro recently along with a couple of Four-Sevens. Not too sure what I think about the F-S's yet. I am, however, pretty impressed with a new Maglite LED I just picked up. That thing will throw a beam with its' longer reflector at LEAST a thousand feet!! I've tested that distance myself. I don't know what the lumen count would be on the far end but it's still enough to identify, very clearly, what is being illuminated. Too, for about $36 Wally-World dollars, and 3-D cells it gits-er-done!

Flashlights

Speaking of flashlights, a couple weeks ago we came home from a long day at a work seminar to all the power off in the neighborhood. So the first thing that we do is go to where we have our emergency flashlights at. Her's, a hand crank 'emergency' flashlight, just didn't work at all for her. (Apparently you need to crank those things up at least once a week for about a minute or the batteries will fail.) Mine is a Coast lenser 1watt led lit up the whole house (well a room at a time), along with the little button led that I have on my EDC carabiner. Before that point she was always making fun of me for having EDC kind of stuff around. Now she knows why I have it. I still need to teach her how to build a fire; but that's a whole another story :D

Thanks for that story, that actually happens quite often. At first it's funny for non-EDC people (incl. wife/girlfriend or your pals) that you carry these things with you, but sooner or later they'll get back to you and ask for a knife/flashlight and so on. The amazing thing is that afterwards you're still the guy who's a lil' nuts, not the one who saved the day...but I guess that's how the story goes. ;)

+1 for Flashlights.

I never leave the house without my Fenix LD10+. I am an Auto Tech so I've got alot of dark areas that I need to see. I use my light at least 10 times a day at work.

I had a buddy's girlfriend poke fun at me for having a flashlight. She said "why dont you just use the flashlight on your phone?" I simply told her that I can pull my light out of my pocket, illuminate whatever needs to be, and get the task at hand done before she can even turn on her flashlight app on her phone... ;)

Those cell phone apps are IMO stupid. I think they were made to light up a dark hallway in an office building enough for one to make out where they are going. I think I'm gonna stick to a real flashlight :)

I think it was Bladite that posted a vid on 2 cartoon animals talking about guns and bugging out.
Can anyone help me find it.

What knife(knives) do you EDC?

I myself am always carrying my Leatherman Skeletool CX. I lost it a couple of days ago, and I darn near went crazy. The OCD was giving me fits and it was pretty close to keeping me up at night. It isn't my best knife, nor my biggest, nor is there any sentimental value to it. However, of all the knives I have, it is the most carried, and I feel utterly lost without it. I finally found it this morning, hiding on top of the wood stove downstairs, right where I left it. I feel like an idiot, but I tell ya, that thing has saved my bacon more times than I can count, and I hate not having it on me.

What about you guys? What do you carry religiously? Ever misplace it? Did it gnaw at you that you didn't have it?

Mostly a Case Peanut, the uber tactical knife of all tactical knives.
Other times, a Spyderco Caly III.
I misplace the Peanut a lot, but usually it was left in some pants pockets.

I think this phenomenon is actually designed into each of our favorite knives/tools. It serves several purposes. It humbles you & reminds you that your not as smart as you think you are, because, after all, if you were, you would not have misplaced it to begin with. It also reminds you that you need that knife/tool, that you want that knife/tool, that you feel lost without that knife/tool. We all do it. It gives us time to refect & realize how much we come to depend on our knives/tools. It is designed into them, so hopefully, we don't do that very often. I have woke up in the middle of the night & remembered right where i put it. Go there & yup, sure enough, there it is. Wife says, what were you doing ?, I say nothing. Then the next day she says, you remembered where you put it, did'nt you ? LOL :D, thats all you can do, is LOL. :D

I carry my BK13 and 14 everyday. Sometimes I have the BK2 with me also. I have to open carry the BK2 though.

CRKT BULL & Vic Huntsman during the week - when I'm not at work it's the Vic and either a Kershaw Rake or Ontario RAT1 for the locking blade. I also have a leatherman micro electrician's tool on my keychain.

Today my wife said that I am anti-social because I carry a couple knives, and I am always trying to make new sheaths and do other upgrades to them. I don't think I am, but if I am I think it's a good thing. She will thank me someday....I know it. :D
