Beckerhead firearms

Thanks!

No optic yet, but otherwise the front is done. I'm going to repost a pic because I like the before & after.

Thanks!

Still need to save for an optic, but the suchka is field ready.

Any suggestions for an AK stock had a Tapco folding stock and it broke pretty much as fast as I started training with it.

I'd stay away from Tapco in general, unless it's a fixed stock or their trigger. Even with triggers, there are better alternatives for a few bucks more.

What kind of stock are you looking for, and what kind of rear trunnion do you have?

Magpul Zukov is pretty popular. I like mine but I haven't done anything to really test it. That or get an Ace Stocks receiver block and a folding knuckle with an adapter to run an AR buffer tube so you can use an AR15 stock. Or VLTOR I think makes a fixed AR stock adapter.

Crap, i am pretty sure I am running a tapco on my Ruger mini 30

Tapco triggers (at least on an AK) are pretty good, it's a quick and cheap way to get rid of the trigger slap. At $30 and 10 minutes of work, it's an easy upgrade. Lot of AK folks swear by them. Tapco G2 + polishing and a retaining plate = fun times with the AK.

I have a Tapco stock on my 14. I need some input soon. I was thinking about trading out my Ruger mini 30 fo a different gun, but it seems that the Mini was and still is a good choice unless I am looking to spend a lot. Especially if I do some pretty minor modifications. Better barrel or barrel brace, maybe get it tuned, decent scope, maybe better hard sights, better stock. Looking for reccomendations to turn it into a reliable accurate and durrable shooter. I like it as is, but from what I have been reading I can LOVE it with some work. Is it worth working on it, or am I better off getting a piston gun in .308 ?

Any of you gun guys wanna chat, I am on FB and facebook chat is Easier than forum post to forum post ..lol

Oh, Tapco stock. Easy enough to replace, if you wanted to go that route. Between barrel struts and a bedded stock, you can get repeatable precision. Not sub moa of a free floated, match grade barreled 308, but still pretty good precision for what 99% of us do.

If you can swing it, keep it and mess around with it while working on that 308. I've regretted selling the firearms that I've sold.

First thing to do is toss the Tapco stock and get a barrel strut. Perfectunion.com is a forum dedicated to the mini-14/30 so all your questions will likely have already been answered there as well as plenty of pics for inspiration.

I like the idea of a folder but fixed with a short pull would be fine. The rifle is a Sagia that I converted.

Also, I've caved and am looking for a nice CZ 550FS in either 6.5x55 or .30-06, but with the checkering pattern depicted below:

Anybody CZ experts happen to know anything about what span of years this particular checkering was produced, or a good source to get one? I'm all ears!

Went to a gun show yesterday and my dad picked up a springfield XD 45. Haven't shot it yet, but so far I like it. Plus it's our first striker fired pistol
