That Creedmoor sounds like it's maybe not an ideal setup-the brass is not cheap, or from a common parent case, and it appears you only get about ten loadings per case before it goes buhbye.
Why they didn't do a 6.5 off the 7.62 case I dunno...

Perhaps. But if I shot 500rds of centerfire rifle a year, it would be worthy of a press release. :-P

got an email today telling me the B6P and B6 compact are on sale stupid cheap this week -- and the full size was $30 less than the compact.
If I can't find one under $300 at the gun show this weekend, I may need to "join the club" to pick one up cheap enough the savings covers shipping and transfer fees.

Just wandering, why are snap caps more expensive then defense ammo?
Might just have to make my own.

pop the primer out, fill pocket with silicone or "shoe goo", add a bullet to the top.

and please color the whole thing with something glaringly obvious, so you don't accidentally chamber a live round thinking it's your snap cap.

I have some cut-down .357 brass for snap caps, colored red and goo'd as Vik suggests. Action-proving dummies require a bit more work.

Well, you certainly won't regret it. One of my all time favorite handguns.

We should do a top 10 list. There are so many guys in here who have so much knowledge about guns. I would love to see what some of your top 10s are. Maybe break it down to top 5 pistol top 5 rifle, or just say top 10 favorite guns and why.
For guys who dont have experience with 10 or more guns chime in with your top 3 or favorite gun, maybe a "Ive never owned or shot this but I have always wanted one."

Anyone else think this would be fun and informative ?

What are the three guns every guy should own? or the 5, or the 10 ? ..lol

Kalashnikov is going to start producing guns in the USA very soon. At least thats what I have read.

It took everything I had not to make a topical political retort.
Going outside to shoot my American-made guns now.

That's the plan. They can't import them so they'll make them here. I'm excited but at the same time concerned they'll end up costing over $1000. I bought my .308 Saiga for just under $600 about 2010-ish and I know they won't be able to sell them that low but maybe if they use mostly Russian parts with the bare minimum of US parts they could come in south of a grand. Or maybe they could try what PSA wanted to do a while back and offer stripped barreled receivers with head-spaced bolts that you can cherry pick your favorite parts for.

I am just excited about the prospect of factory AKs that arent 30 years old ..lol. When I bought my Ruger mini 30 it was because a Milled receiver AK that was used and like 20 years old was significantly more than a brand new stainless Ruger.

Shot some stuff today.
First opportunity to shoot a 6.5mm swedish mauser carbine foiled by what must be faulty bolt internals. It cycled fine, but...
Also some pierced primers with an engraved 3-screw flattop unconverted .357 Blackhawk. Haven't tried that ammo in another gun.
But those (and others) were all unknowns.

The old Savage (1950) field/target rifle performed flawlessly as always, discovered the empty aperture in my Skinner ghost ring works better for my eyes on the Marlin 39M (yep), and the ol' Buckmark with TacSol barrel is still a tack driver.

put 250 rounds in the cmr-30 today, mixed brands/types of rounds from 30 to 50 grains

30 felt super light, almost no recoil. 50 was a "was that recoil?" yeah, but totes light...

with the include iron sights, very accurate. horizontal was totally on from factory, but the vertical shot low, perhaps i'm not using the magpul buis in quite the right way but it's consistent, and for ME, i'll tweak it for 25 yds. scope it later. highly accurate. drill machine.

considering six types of ammo, copper washed, polymer tips (two kinds), hollowpoints (two kinds), and other, it was a gas. 3 fail to feeds - the magzines don't like one kind of polymer in particular.

love it :D

Does anyone have any experience around here with airguns? I have a bit of Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket, and I was thinking about getting a .22 air rifle. I was looking at a Ruger "Impact". Reviews seem mixed, but I don't have tons to spend on one. Any advice?

I have a Ruger impact extreme in .22 caliber, works amazing for squirrel hunting. If I was gonna buy another tho it would be the Benjamin nitro xl. Fit and finish is better

Thanks for the heads up, appreciate it. The Benjamin is nice, but around $100 more.

Do you have the stock scope on the Impact? Does it work out okay?
